I miss movies alot too but I really miss being able to run out the door quickly to do an errand. Now it takes me all day long to get all of us dressed and diaper bags packed to do anything. I can never just walk out the door without a care.

We go to the drive-in =D She does really well, although during Inception she decided it would be a good time to run down all of the events in her life. The girl would not stop talking. RUDE
I miss sleep. She has been STTN since 6 months but my sleep is still not what it used to be.
Ditto to the PP who said running errands. I seriously hate doing them with dd, but it just seems silly to get a sitter to just run to the bank and post office.
We didn't go to movies much pre-dd but I do miss seeing a commercial for a movie I wanted to see and then saying "hey we should go see that tonight". Now we have to find a sitter a week in advance, plus it's already expensive enough going to the movie then having to cough up another 50 bucks for the sitter stings. lol
Not having to schedule every little thing. I used to just be able to go where I needed to go: the grocery store, the gym, to get ice cream. Nothing is that simple now.
Being able to go to the bathroom whenever I want and without interruption. I was taking a moment this morning and DS came in with his favorite book and tried climbing in my lap for story time. NOT COOL.
DH doing all the cooking. On weekend mornings he would totally ask me what I wanted and then bring me this amazing plate with an omelet, toast, cut-up fruit, and coffee fixed just the way I liked it. I was so spoiled.
sleeping in, being able to take a bath *all her toys are in the bathroom with the tub in our house and i'm too lazy and don't have the time to clean it just to take a bath, being able to go somewhere overnight and not have to pack a million things, being able to run errands and not have to worry about getting her home in time for nap time. being able to just leisurely shop in the mall. i also miss my job not feeling like such a chore. the last place i want to go to most nights after a long day with DD is WORK (night shift nurse 2 nights/week).
Spontaneity.... I can never do anything or go anywhere "on a whim". For instance earlier this week, I had the afternoon off. I did what I had to do, dawdled around & shopped a bit, but really couldn't think of much to do.
However, there are so many times when opportunities (or whims) pop up to do adult things and I can't partake.

I'm with you about going to the movies! DH and I used to love going to the movies and would do dinner and a movie a few times per month at least. We have probably only seen 2 movies in the theater since DS1 was born.
The other thing I miss (which I think has already been mentioned) is sleeping in! My boys are usually awake anywhere between 6:30-7:30am. I know it could be worse, but that is still earlier than I would like!

SLEEP - by far the thing I miss most. 8 or 9 hours of blissful, uninterrupted sleep. Lack of sleep is my Achilles heel - no doubt about it.
Spontaneous sex - or sex at all really. We have to schedule sex or we'd never do it. Saturday night is sexy time. We went from 6 times a week to 1. I kid you not. We're tired and exhausted!
Travel - we used to take weekend trips at least once a month and now we just can't because we only trust one sitter (his teacher) and she costs us $20/hr or $150/day. I miss you Vegas!!!
Reading magazines lazily in bed - I used to spend hours reading magazines and drinking diet coke. I just love it. So very relaxing!
Going to dinner/movies - We've tried taking DS to dinner with us and it just ends up with one of us eating and the other walking around entertaining the baby and then switching so the other can eat. It blows. I love good food and restaurants!
Our rock climbing trips - we can't take him everywhere with us because of the heat, falling rocks, nothing for him to do, etc. We still get out to a few places but not like we used to
My awesome body - this is a tough one for me. I'm still 20 pounds heavier than my wedding day and even then I wanted to lose ten pounds. So I'm about 30 pounds overweight. I never had a muffin top before and it blows. I rarely wear jeans any more. I hate it.
Time with my girlfriends - I just don't have enough time to spend with them anymore. Most are still single and don't have kids so it's really hard.
I used to really love my dogs - now they just get on my nerves because they bark and wake up the baby constantly!!! Nothing like taking 2 hours rocking and singing your baby to sleep just to have your dog hear someone parking their car and start barking their head off! Grrrrrrrr. Plus, all the dog hair drives me up the wall. Sadly, I wish we didn't have them now. Awful but I'm telling the truth. No flames please.
My relationship with my DH - it used to be more fun and easy like Sunday morning and now it's still great just different. We have different parenting styles and it causes some tension between us but we're working on it.
I'm sure there are more if I think about it but those are the ones that come to mind.
I should add that I still wouldn't change a thing! Our DS is pretty much the best thing ever!

Hands down going to the store quickly. I hate not being able to get in the car and drive to the store and get out and shop. I mean it doesn't take 10 min to get her in or out of the carseat but it's still adding time on my trip.
MIL almost never visiting us. Now its more because of DS and she is so annoying most of the time.
Hahaha, omg, this! Granted we got pregnant a couple of months after getting married, but holy heck, I miss not having to see my ILs every single weekend. I need a break!
Going to the movies too. Although we don't have it quite that bad, my parents are almost always willing to come over for an evening so that we can go out.
Ah yes - I definitely miss sleep, good old uninterrupted sleep until whenever I want type sleep - I don't think I'll be seeing that again for the next 18 years
I also miss spontaneously going out w/ DH or my girlfriends, but like pp said, I wouldn't change a thing!
Sleeping in, sleeping continuously, and deciding to do things a the last minute. My parents and ILs are very helpful with babysitting, so if there's a movie we want to see (or something else that we can't do with DS), we usually can do it. It just requires planning - gone are the days of deciding to do things on a whim.
Sleeping, road trips, money, being lazy, drinking lots of wine, spontaniety, knitting/reading/anything with my hands that requires attention, not having someone hanging on me all the time.
I miss not having the pressure of having to get up early the next day. Now that I have LO who gets up by 7 at the latest I have trouble getting to sleep because I'm worried about getting enough sleep to make it through the next day! Also (can I have second thing?) I am SOOO sick of all the bottle/sippy cup parts that have to be washed and assembled every day. It makes me crosseyed to think of how parents with more than 2 young children even manage to fit everything into the dishwasher! Let alone diaper duty!
I miss leisurely dinners splitting a bottle of wine. We used to go out seriously five nights a week. We still eat out, and DD is terrific, all things considered, but it's still not leisurely.
I miss going out to fancy restaurants where they don't have crayons or kids menu's. We usually splurge once in while and leave the kiddos with Grandma & Grandpa.
I miss spontaneously doing things. Child-free friends forget sometimes and call asking if we want to meet for dinner in 30 minutes or meet for drinks after work - and doing those things just requires so much coordination! I miss just saying, "SURE!" and then going.
There are ways we have adjusted to having a baby so that we don't miss out on the things we loved pre-baby. For example:
DH wakes up early with DD on Saturdays, I wake up early with her on Sundays. This means we both get a chance to sleep in as long as we want one day a week.
DD has an early bedtime (7:30 at the latest) so once she's down we have the night to do stuff - I go to the gym, DH games it up, etc.
I honestly do not feel like I am "missing out" on the things I used to do. I was never the get drunk/pedicure/long vacation type of person, and that is probably why. I'm not saying those are bad things, they're just things I never got used to doing regularly so I don't miss them.
There is definitely more responsibility, and we are on the go 10x more than we used to be, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. In fact, just today we were wondering what the hell we did with our free time before DD came along. She completes us, entertains us, and keeps us going and happy.

Re: What I miss about no kid(s):
having sex when we wanted...WHERE.. we wanted.
bathes with no distubances.
not having to cook supper every night!
We used to just pick up and go someplace (to the city, to the US, festivals, rodeos etc) at the very last minute.
Now? we have to plan to go, or don't go all together. If we do go, it's all based around DS's schedule and we have to lug along his things too.
The days of purse, coat and go are long gone.
Sleeping in.

I was just going to post this. She's (finally) STTN routinely, but she's usually awake around 5:45. Not so bad on the weekdays, but on the weekends
Ditto to that too though, lol. I can't remember what the heck I did with all my free time before having kids....
Going out on a Friday night last minute or just picking up and getting out of the house.
Hubs is getting home at 3pm today and we are meeting at the pool for an hour before we pick him up. Things like this are what I miss most.
Sleeping in together.
DH doing all the cooking.
On weekend mornings he would totally ask me what I wanted and then bring me this amazing plate with an omelet, toast, cut-up fruit, and coffee fixed just the way I liked it. I was so spoiled.
Time for exercise and being out after 8 pm.
going to the movies
not having to plan/pack/prepare so much for vacation
Sleeping in
Being able to stay out as late as want without having to worry about getting a sitter
Having extra money to spend.
violet (01.06.2011) & colt (09.27.08)
expecting surprise baby no.3 may 3rd
