Mine is...asked my OB and he said it could be the way I am sitting at work, usually my left leg is planted on the ground w/ my right crossd over or under it, or where the baby is laying too has something to do w/ it, they way she's pressing on my uterus? Either way he didn't seem concerned, only if it were my calf and it was painful did he say to call or come in, but the ankle/foot is usually ok. Just one of those weird things I guess!
Yes, my OB said that is common because the growing uterus is obstructing the vena cava, a major vein that runs down the right side of your body. If I understand correctly, the vena cava has that much more pressure on it, which results in fluid build-up in the left side of the body.
Also, I think that's why they say it's best to lie on your left side instead of your right.
right leg is actually swollen, whenever I prop up my legs normally i fall asleep wake up and my left leg is still propped up and my rights tucked under my right thigh... no mystery there
YES!!! And I am happy you asked this - this was a concern of mine that I asked at the OB just today!!! I only saw the nurse practitioner though. She didn't seem too concerned, and said that it is normal for the left to swell a little more than the right.
I am having some issues with my left foot/ankle right now. It feels like I broke my ankle (on the top!) But I can walk on it just fine. It just hurts a LOT to the touch. There is some swelling, but it's not severe or anything. She said it's just from lack of circulation. Great. And I still have 8 more weeks!
I specifically asked if this means I could have DVT and she said no, not at all. So I'm a *little* comforted by that.
