Any long-term BF'ers?

Have any of the Mama's on here breastfeed longer then a year? The AAP recommends 2 years these days, but I think I will plan to stop by 18 months. Just checking to see if anyone else was in it for the long haul before I go asking any questions....

    I BF Ian until he was 15 months. Not all that long but longer than what was recommended back then.

    Not really looking into it, its been the plan for a while now ;) Kudo's to you for planning to as well. There aren't a whole lot of people that do...

    I know that was your intention...I type weird things while BFing on the couch on my iPhone!  hehe...

    My goal is at least a year. Kim, there are lots of extended BFers on the AP board if you have questions.

    Yep, I posted there about a month ago and got some really great feedback on the subject (re. pumping after a year) I really like a lot of the women over there as well as my local AP Yahoo group. I guess I was just seeing if there was anyone around here doing the same :)

    Coming from someone that couldn't BF, I give you girls so much credit...I pumped for about 5 weeks and it was a challenge for me (so glad I was able to at least do that though)...cheers to you long termers....i don't know how you do it! I can't even imagine BF'ing McK now....she is so big I can't picture her in my lap to nurse!!
