Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Getting LO on a schedule when you have 2 or more..

As D2 nears 5 months old, I know its important to get her on a schedule.  I'm finding it difficult with D1 around.  For example, I've been rocking D2 to sleep for naps because its quicker than letting her fuss a bit for herself.  This way I can get back to D1 rather than having her wait for me to deal with D2 and the nap.  At bedtime, D2 is kind of at the mercy of D1 and her mood and schedule.  So far its been fine, but I know its important to give D2 some schedule and allow her to fall asleep on her own.  Any ideas?

  • DS2 gets a morning nap (1.5 hours after he wakes up). DS1 has been napping at 1:30 pm for a couple of years now. DS2 will take his 2nd nap at the same time. As for bedtime. DS2 goes down at 8:00pm (while DS1 watches a show on t.v.) and DS1 goes down at 8:30pm.

DS1 wakes up around 7:30am and DS2 is up for the day around 8:00 or so.
