Success after IF

cruising with toddlers

DH and I have never been on a cruise but we were entertaining the idea of going with my family in October.  Jake will obviously still be in diapers and I heard that children in diapers aren't allowed in the adult pools on cruise ships.  Does anyone know if this is true for every company? If so, we definitely wouldn't go since we'd hate to be stuck at the kiddie pool all week. Thanks!

  • We didn't have any problems.  We had her in swim diapers and were in the adult pool.

  • It varies, depending on the cruise line.  Some have "Adults Only" pools and they strictly enforce it.  But they also have pools for both adults and children and then also kiddy pools.  I would check with the cruise line before hand to find out specific info.

  • I was under the impression that swim diapers weren't even allowed in the kiddie pools...   Definitely double check with the individual lines.
  • Not sure if you would do this, but if you use one of the sitters that cruise lines offer or kiddie clubs, they won't change diapers.  They will page you and you need to come change the child.  I'm not sure how the system really works, but a couple that we cruised with used the service before and were briefly telling me about it.  I didn't have a child at the time so I didn't pay full attention to details.

  • Only Disney allows babies in the pool.  All others ban babies in all pools.
