Would you get a boob job if you had the money?

Last night H asked me how much a breast enhancement cost.  I asked why and he told me that after we pay off our bills and had our last child that I could maybe get one if I wanted one.  I didn't take it personally because having two kids have reaped havoc on my chest, I went from a nice B to an almost D to a droopy, barely  B since Bailey and Kate have been born.  Also I am almost 5ft10in tall and broad shoulder.  I don't know about it, but have several friends with them and they love them. I know I have several years to decide, so I am just throwing the question out there to you.  Would you get a boob job if you had the money and no chest?

Re: Would you get a boob job if you had the money?

  • Hell to the yeah!  After we are done having children I am going in for reconstructive surgery.  I have big boobies (D cup) but they are a saggy mess, and that's only after one baby!  I loved my chest before and want to feel that way again.

  • I would. ?I already told DH that if my boobs get worse than what they already are with more children he better believe it that I am getting myself some new boobs. ?

  • I'm a D and 5'3" so anything bigger would look ridiculous on me, but I'd definitely do a lift. The girls aren't as perky as they once were.

  • I've played w/ the idea. DH is fully supportive if I want to get it done. But honestly, the thought of having a foreign object in my body, and needing to have surgery every 10 years to replace them (or whatever it is now) just makes me not want to do it.

My friends and I were actually talking this morning... I guess there's some sort of new "organic boob job" out now where they inject stem cells / fat into your boobs. And *supposedly* when you gain weight, it goes there first. I really know nothing about it past that, but I'm kind of intrigued ;)

ETA: another friend mentioned skin stretching. She said it's different then a lift; they just stretch the skin back tight (I guess kind of like a tummy tuck but on your boobs). I know that doesn't help w/ size, but it would help w/ sagginess! My boobs are so deflated now that I just don't know. I'm not self-conscious about it, so I'll probably just leave them be ;)

  • Probably. After we are done having kids I think I would be open to it. But honestly I don't know if I would feel like "we had the money". I tend to always want it to go to something like savings just in case, kwim?

No. I've got small boobs (B) and have gone through phases when I wish they were bigger but I'm too chicken to go through with it. I don't want to deal with the pain and go through a major procedure for vanity's sake. Plus I could hate the way they look and then be upset forever. Too many cons.

That sounds interesting.  One of my friends recently had breast cancer so they were removed.  The drs. took fat from around her waist to reconstruct her breast.  I thought it was interesting, I wonder if they could take fat from my legs and do the sameWink

  • If I had the money I would not get one. My breasts are not as full and as perky but no I would not get plastic surgery. I would use the money for something else.

I was once told I was in that "committee" by a guy in High School.  Quite embarrassing.  I had/have a friend who huge in 6th grade and everyone joked that she had mountains and I was the great plains :(

  • I think I would.  I'm pretty flat chested and never fill clothes out....and pregnancy didn't help the situation at all....my boobs are the same!  My DH probly wouldn't approve but it'd be nice to fill out a top!  Seriously my left over baby belly is bigger then my chest.  But I deffinatly wouldn't do anything till we were sure we were done having kids.  I mean maybe my milk will actually come in next time and I'll fill out more (as my mom claims that she was flat chested like me until she had my sister and I)....there was just too much stress on my body from HELLP Syndrome to produce milk and I dried up after a month and a half...

    I want boobs!

Ouch. Yeah, I got the "What do kiwi and a board have in common?"  question when I was in 6th grade (they're both flat, just in case you haven't figured it out). Middle school was awesome lol.

  • No. And I am about as flat chested as they come. I think it is sad that our society has made us feel like this is important and necessary to feel good about ourselves. I do not mean any harm by that statement. It really just makes me sad because it does not matter in the least bit.
  • Heck ya. I would love to fill out my tops instead of looking like my back is facing you.

  • Absolutely but it's not because I have no chest.  I have too much chest and it's SAGGY.  I'm going to wait until I'm done BFing our last LO though.  I also won't mess with the size of my boobs because I realize I have to embrace what nature gave me but a lift... YES!

  • For me it's not so much a money issue as a risk issue. I'd love to get a boob job, tummy tuck and liposuction and we could probably afford it realistically. But I've never done well with recovering from surgeries (I've had several) and the idea of a hard recovery and the risks of the surgery itself are enough to keep me from truly considering it. It scares me too much. Plus, I guess I'm not that unhappy with my body as it is, so I might feel differently if I was truly and utterly unhappy with the way I looked.
  • I would need a lift rather than just an implant...but hell yeah I'd LOVE to get my boobs done!

Oh girl, I am so with you. It is really disgusting and sad.  It is even sadder when your SO subscribes to playboy and apparently intends to for the rest of his life...I know I wouldn't have surgery but I supose if it will make him happy and me feel better about myself I maybe do this "organic boob job" that someone mentioned.

  • I'm honestly considering getting one done once we're finished having kids and more financially stable. One year I could put my tax return towards it or something. The only thing is DH made me feel a little silly. He's totally fine with me doing whatever makes me happy, but he thinks its kinda vain to get non-necessary surgery just so I'll look better. But after BFing two kids I might just have to be a little vain.

ETA: I'm not getting an enlargement, just a little lift.

  • I probably won't. Mine didn't really change since DS. They got a little bigger but not really. They are not sagging yet. If they do I would consider it maybe. We will see if they change at all after children.

I'll admit it....I'm fat I'm 5'7" and like 250 lbs....and was up to 270 preggo. (230 pre preg)  I'm still a bloddy A cup.  So you can through that concept out the window!

I have the same build as my mother and she is a D.  And my little sister is a big girl (bigger then me and mom) and is an F....so either I really got F'd over or the fat=big boobs is major BS!

  • i had them done already and they're still looking good after nursing for 10 months.
  • I've went back and forth on this idea.  However, my MIL got one done 3 years ago and flaunts them around...DH is so embarrased. So I think she ruined my chance of getting him to agree. I have always been an A cup, which most shirts do not fit right and NO bathing suits look good. Then after DD they are even flatter!! I couldn't believe it, I truly look like I boy on the top half!

awww, no. My friend was saying that if you get this "organic boob job" that then weight would go there first.. I don't know if that's true or not. I haven't had a chance to google it yet. But I didn't mean in general weight goes there first (hell, mine sure doesn't!) just supposedly if you get this type of work done. Sounds too good to be true though, right ;)

Anyway, the small amount of searching I have done this afternoon, it sounds like they remove fat from another part of your body (yeah! ;) and inject it into your boobs.... maybe in 10 years it'll be the new way to do things. I might be more likely to do that ;)
