We haven't really talked about girl names yet, but for a boy DH wants to use his father's name. His father is Syrian and has a very (for lack of a better word) ethnic name that even he hates. It's tradition in DH's family to name the first male child after the grandfather, but DH's father would prefer we don't continue that tradition given that he doesn't even like his name.
I had a dream a few months ago, that we had a little boy, and we named him Ryvan (Ry- van) I love the name personally, and I have no idea, how the name came up, but still
For a little girl we like Laura ( for my grandmother) Sophie, and call her Sophie.
happy to see the name Ruth is coming back in popularity!
Its my middle name and was my grammy's name. I never loved it, until she passed away suddenly. I got teased a lot, but I am so proud of it now.
Ruth is my Mom's first name. When we were pregnant with Tooter Man, she expressed to me that she always hated her name and didn't want me to use it if we had a girl. She finally agreed to let me have it as a middle name but we had a boy so I never got to use it.
This is fun....we have a name book that we keep a sticky in with names we like so we have a ton. The ones we like for this week are;
Girl favorite: Aniyah Elizabeth (we aren't sure how to spell Aniyah, I like it like this but DH doesn't) Beckett is a close second.
Boy: Owen Cade is one hubby said this week and it's growing on me. We really like Micha Keith (Micah is a family name in hubby's side and Keith is one on my side).
With the first baby, DH tossed out the name Pilot and I was really starting to like it when we lost the baby so this time around I tossed it out and he said he feels like it was meant for baby number 1.
