Job Interview Tomorrrow

I have an interview tomorrow for a different position within my company and I'm so nervous! I'm starting to show, but not to the point that anyone has asked me if I'm pg, and some people are even surprised when I tell them how far along I am.

This position would allow me to have a steady 40 hr work week; mine is currently 45-50, so that would be a nice change. Its also a lot less stress.

Has anyone else gone to an interview since being pg? Did you tell them about the pregnancy at the interview, or wait until you had an offer?  This is uncharted territory for me, so any guidance is greatly appreciated! Indifferent

Re: Job Interview Tomorrrow

  • I'm also currently interviewing and I'm not telling. My "bump" looks like a beer gut so they won't be able to tell.

  • You should let them know what is going on, because if you wait it might seem dishonest. But make sure to explain that you'll be able to perform your duties regardless, and explain your reasons for wanting the position your interviewing for ( i.e better hours, less stress. ) And hope for the best.

    ????????
  • While I have interviewed while pregnant, I just wanted to wish my LB good luck tomorrow!  I got my fingers crossed for you!

Thank you! I'm going to need it! How are you doing?

  • Good luck!

I didn't interview PG but I did get PG within a month of starting in my new position. I felt weird telling them the news even though I'm not new with the company. If you get it do you think they'll act weird if you say "by the way..."

I don't know. I am thinking I am not going to say anything while interviewing and then if I get the offer I will let them know then. This way I know they didn't have it in the back of their minds when choosing the best candidate, but I'm not going to accept the job without telling them. I ran this past my manager and she said she would be okay with that. We'll see how it goes! (crosses fingers!)

I would wait for the job offer before telling them as well, and then let them know before accepting.

  • I would not, you don't need to and by law this 'should' not be an issue at all at any point even though it can be sometimes without you ever knowing it. I interviewed for a position in my first trimester and was just offered the job a week ago. They do not know I am pregnant yet, I think I will share once the contract is signed since the law protects us pregnant working women. We worry due to our values/beliefs, on the same hand you can do the job and will return once off maternity leave. Good luck!
