I had DD Friday night and they released me from the hospital on Saturday since both of us were doing pretty well. I didn't want to be away from DS too long, since he was having a really hard time adjusting to everything. I'm starting to think that it was a mistake, because DH totally underestimates how much labor affects your body.
Obviously, I'm not going to sit my butt on the couch while he's home, but I do expect some down time. Between keeping up with visitors and housework, feeding DD at all hours, and helping DS adjust, I'm exhausted and sore. DH is willing to take DS to do fun things, but will not touch housework. I was hoping he got a taste of what I deal with on a regular basis, but he's so out of touch it's ridiculous.
Re: I should be milking the whole "I just birthed your kid"
that is opposite of what my husband was like. i actually *saw* what was going on down there when i gave birth, so he was completely traumatized. he didn't want me to do anything after i had our daughter.
meanwhile, i kept wanting to get up and about!
