We do not know if this new baby is going to be a girl or a boy.
My dad passed away recently, and I want to use a middle name after him, or at least his side of the family. This is difficult, however, because he is German, and the names are pretty funky. My dad's first name was Hartmut. I love the idea of shortening it, and using "Hart" as a middle name for a girl. I feel like, because it is said "heart", that it mostly has fairly feminine connotations (also reminds me of melissa joan hart). However, Hart is an actual boys name, and it is also a word that means male deer; stag.
So: what do you think of using Hart as a middle name for a boy?
The only other real options right now are Otto or Adam. Adam was my first choice until I learned that my oldest sister had considered using it as a MN for one of her boys and at the time, my dad told her not to. Now I'm worried that my dad didn't want his grandfather's name used for some reason, and it is currently at the bottom of the list. Otto is just, well, awkward, though could be cute too...
Oh, and we are most likely going with Kieran as a first name for a boy.
Re: Middle name help
I really, really like Kieran Hart!
I love your idea of using Hart, I think it would work either way, for a boy or a girl (but then again, I am a fan of a lot of unisex or masculine sounding names on girls, so).
I think I like Kieran Hart. It's masculine enough that it wont cause gender confusion for strangers or anything.
This!
