I delivered my baby Molly this week! She was a little early (36wks), but is doing great now. She was pretty heavily jaundiced and having a little trouble with her suck, so I'm on the dreaded nipple shield right now to help her get enough milk to flush out the jaundice. Thankfully both DH and the lactation consultant at my hospital were AMAZING- I can see why so many people give up out of frustration.
Anyhow, I wanted to say thanks to everybody on the CD advice while I was stocking up. She's teeny(about 5lbs 8 oz) so she doesn't fit into much, but I can manage to snappi an orange-edged prefold with a twist or jelly roll into a Thirsties Duo sz1.
I'm changing her every two hours after nursing, but she still got a diaper rash. I tried California Baby (in the tube) but it didn't help at all. So now I have her in disposables and am using Desitin (I know, I know) and it really seems to be working well even after just a couple of hours. I want to love the CA Baby but am having trouble...
I wonder if I'm not using enough of the CA Baby? Or does it only work if you use it before a rash develops?

Congrats!
She is a little thing. I'm sure she's gorgeous.
I really like Weleda for clearing up redness. Burt's Bees is alright too.
