Not a cent. I live in Canada I honestly had no idea before I came to the bump that americans had to pay to have babies! Everything is 100% covered here for us.
$0.... I also don't have to pay a single co-pay or anything for pregnancy related services. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield in MA and our monthly premium is $200 for a family plan.
Seriosuly?! We must have the shiitiest insurance ever. We had to pay everything up to our $1400 deductible, now that we've met that insurance covers everything at 80%. I think once we hit $3000 we are completely covered, but I'm not sure.

H and I need to make a call to our insurance company very soon to clear things up. My OB bills out at the end for everything. That will be nice, since we're due in January and I'm certain we'll hit our OOP max. If we were billed from them throughout this year and our OOP max renewed 2 weeks before delivery, we would be screwed.
We have 80/20 coverage. We are being billed for lab services and things now, though. I'm just kind of confused on what to expect and want a clear answer!
I also want H to check with work to see if we up our plan to the 90/10 coverage and lower OOP max, if we'll be okay. It would go into effect for 2011, assuming we don't have the baby early, we would have way better coverage.
We are in the middle of switching from a DR to a MW so if what we have already paid toward the "global fee" at the first office doesn't cover what the insurance won't cover, we will owe them more money (if it does, we might get money back). With the new MW, we will payour deductable up front ($1000) then AFTER delivery we will be billed for the total number of visits we had from now until delivery. We will most likely owe a $50 office visit fee plus whatever is not covered by the Insurance Co. (they cover 100% of reimbursable fees- so they pay 100% of the agreed upon fee. If the MW charges more than that agreed fee, we will owe the difference). THEN we will owe co-insurance- $60 for vaginal delivery, $139 for C-section. THEN we will still receive a hospital bill and will be responsible for whatever the Insurance co. doesn't cover (I still have to do the research on that). This makes a homebirth just a little more appealing
I owe my OB office ~$450 for all prenatal & post-natal visits. As for delivery, at the hospital I'll pay whatever remains on my $500 deductible, plus 20% of other charges, up to my $2000 OOP maximum (and the $450 to the OB office applies towards the OOP maximum). So all told, somewhere between $2000-2500, depending on how much of the deductible I use between Sept. 1 when it resets & mid-January when I deliver.

$3k out of pocket, but thats my fault because I chose the cheaper plan w/ higher deductible & co-insurance. I rarely went to the doctor other than my yearly OBGYN appt and I hadn't anticipated TTC as soon as we did -- if I had known we were going to start when we did, I would've selected a better plan!

Doesn't it make you feel super lucky? I can't even imagine taking out my wallet at a dr's office or hospital.
$5000 max out of pocket for all family healthcare total this year. We will probably reach the max before I ever get to delivery day, just from DH's bills, DS's bills, all prescriptions, my doctor and million ultrasounds. It's a pretty decent plan because even though it's high deductible, everything counts, including our prescriptions. So we know exactly how much we are going to spend before we ever get to the hospital.
FWIW, my c/s bill was something like $16000, and the vaginal birth we pre-paid for was $4700.
Our deductible is 500 dollars, once we reach that we only pay 10% of the visit which is like 13 dollars n ultrasounds which are 8 dollars for us since we have to get tons pf ultrasound since we are high risk. We also only 125$$ for delivery n hospital fee total. That is due in Sept! We have great insurance I think!

My insurance premium is $82 once a month and I only had to pay the co-pay at my first visit, $30. I also paid $25 to find out the sex a month early, but who wouldn't do that? Everything else is covered though! My insurance sucks EXCEPT for the maternity part!
I have BCBS HMO of Iowa through my husband's job. I have a $100 global copay to cover my prenatal visits, $750 deductible, then everything else is covered 80% until I reach my $1500 out of pocket max. I have been recently seeing a high risk OB, so I have an additional $10 copay/visit at her office. So all in all, we will probably pay between $1500-2000. Our policy is fairly expensive, I think we pay about $250/month and that will go up substantially with the baby.
$200 for the hospital. All OB visits are free as are all of my ultrasounds. I'm lucky because I've been to the high risk center twice already and I'm going one more time and I have not had to pay for anything.

Well, we will have to meet our deductible. This baby is due January 3rd so if it comes a few days early before the new year we won't have to pay much because our deductible will be met. If it comes after the 1st of the year we'll have to pay the $1000 for the deductible for me AND a $1000 deductible for the baby. It sucks. We do have Aflac too so by the time we get the hospital benefits from that it should just about cover most of that.

$0 -- I love being Canadian
It costs money to have him circumcised though, somewhere around $200? Not sure...
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

$0 i sure love being canadian at times like this. Also we have amazing health care as DH is Airforce.

We have killer health insurance. Whatever the insurance co. doesn't pick up, DH's employer pays for.
5k
I don't even bother complaining about it anymore, we save up to pay for it and I have some aflac insurance.
fwiw my c/s was $18,000 but my entire hospital stay was around $28,000 (including the c/s)
