DD has had minor diaper rash the last week or so. It's in the form of small red blotches here and there. I looked up photos of yeast rash online, and that's not what it looks like. It doesn't seem to be bothering her, but during her last diaper changed, I noticed two sores.
Could this be ammonia burn? If not, what is it?
And can I use rash cream on the sores? I don't have any CD-friendly cream here, and anything I order will take three weeks to arrive. So I'm limited to using liners with cloth or sposies if I want to use the cream.
Re: Help with diaper rash, please
It could be from ammonia. Could it be staph? Staph looks like blisters and then they pop open and have open sores.
You can put neosporin type stuff on the sores.
Since you have liners, I would use regular diaper rash cream - anything that doesn't have fish oil in it pinstripesandpolkadots.com has a list of stuff if you can get any of it where you are (I use Desitin Creamy with CDs). Or even just vaseline to protect the skin when you have to put a diaper on her.
I have seen staph before (not on diaper area, though), and it doesn't look like that. It's just little red blotches here and there. The only diapers I have that still smell like ammonia are my overnight GMs and B4s, so maybe that's the problem. I have Boudreaux's Butt Paste, which I see isn't recommended for use with non-disposable liners (I only have fleece ones). Ugh. I do not want to put her in sposies - they always always leak for us.
