do you burp LO when he passes out while BFing?

In the middle of the night, I am guilty that when he falls right back asleep, I dont burp him. Should I be burping every time he feeds even when he passes out at the boob?

I always burp DD whether she goes right back to sleep or not

Yes. To prevent gas from building up and causing him pain later in the evening when you're sound asleep

We burp her everytime. She might not burp but we tried. 99% of the time she goes right back to sleep. If not I rock her for a min or two and it's lights out again.

I always do because LO has been known to spit up and I don't like the thought of him sleeping in his spit up if I don't burp him. Sometimes he sleeps through burping and sometimes he'll fall asleep again right after.

Yup, although he very very rarely burps we always try. It just takes a few more minutes to coax him back to sleep.

Yes. He actually likes to fall asleep with me patting his back, so it's no problem.

This. She hardly ever burps, but we still try everytime. I think having her back patted is soothing to her anyway : )

I usually do, but the Baby Whisperer says that when they are really sleepy eating, they don't usually gulp in air. She suggests not burping them in the middle of the night when you "dream feed".

i didn't burp her this am after her feed and she vomitted everywhere all over my hair and was running down my back and all in her bassinet. burp always!
