Awkward moment I am blaming on hormones

So when DH and I were dating his parents would always say "Ann" is our favorite DIL. It was kinda funny at the time, because she was the only DIL.

Fast forward three years and they come stay in our home after we have been married for over a year. We all go to dinner and when DH walks away from the table to use the bathroom...MIL says "Ann" is our favorite DIL and FIL goes on and on about how great she is.

We get home I tell DH that they really need to stop reminding me, every time we see them, that they like their other DIL more than me (because she has given them two grandchildren and lives in the same town)

Just now we were talking about the new swing on our porch and I said you know your DIL put that together all be herself, and FIL says "who Ann?". I threw my hands up in the air looked at DH and said "yeah Ann put it together" (sarcastic tone) and walked out of the room. As I was walking away I hear FIL say "well the way she said DIL...makes me think of Ann"..really!!!

So while I was in the other room he told them they are hurting my feelings and need to cut it out.

    I know this isn't your point of the post but... your in laws sound WAY too much like mine (hugs)

    Thanks, this is the first time he has had to stand up for me to his parents. Hope it will be the last. I am glad they live in 15 hours away!! haha

     you know what, HUGE props to YH for making a stand. That can be hard for men to stand up to there parents at times. You should feel proud!

    Aww Sweetie, I am sorry. That would hurt my feelings too..... except I could give 2 sh!ts if my Monster-in-law liked me or not, lol. Wink Hopefully they realize that they need to stop teasing and start acting a little bit nicer to their "other" DIL.
    Love multiplies it doesn't divide!!

    ((hugs)) I am sorry they aren't being nice. Thats great H stood up for u. Good job. That good they live so far away...I might hurt someone
