6. Did you have a sit down dinner or buffet? What was on the menu? Buffet, we had lots of stations. DH's family came from Chicago for the wedding, so we had a Chicago station with beefs and hot dogs. We also had carvings of ham and turkey with rolls, a smashed potato martini station, fruits, grilled veggies, and a mexican station with fajitas and nachos. We had chicken noodle soup too.
For passed snacks at cocktail hour, we had mini deep dish pizzas, chicken quesedillas, and crouton bowl salads.
Yes, our menu was all over our place, but its theme was "our favorite things."
7. Did you do anything unique at your ceremony or reception? Anniversary dance instead of bouquet toss, wrote our own ceremony and vows. I also DIYed all of the stationary and most of the decor (not flowers).

I'd just like to add....my "wedding" was an absolute NIGHTMARE! My MIL and my mother took all of my beautiful ideas and completely turned them into a big poofball circus that looked like a cupcake vomited on it. She went behind my back and changed all my plans with the dress shop and the florist. DH's aunt cut our cake while we were having our first dance, my IL's sat at the wedding party table while my mother sat at the parents table by herself. We plan to re-do the entire thing on our 10 year anniversary.

3. How many attendants did you have? 7 on each side, 2 flower girls and a ring bearer

5. What were your colors or themes? Navy and Pink (girls wore navy dresses)
6. Did you have a sit down dinner or buffet? What was on the menu? had a coctail hours with stations set up and a sit down dinner. Menu included chicken, prime rib and salmon.
7. Did you do anything unique at your ceremony or reception? hmm...not really
8. What flavor(s) was/were your cake? vanilla creme
9. What were your special dance songs (first, last, daddy/daughter, mother/son)? something by the beatles for first song, song for dad was a song by billy joel (forget name !) and cant remember what my husband danced with his mom to but it was sad
10. Where did you go on your honeymoon? Aruba (loved it!)

6. Did you have a sit down dinner or buffet? What was on the menu? Sit down with scallops, chicken and steak (scallops were awesome!)
7. Did you do anything unique at your ceremony or reception? My husbands family is from North Africa and speak Arabic and French so we did the ceremony in French & English.
8. What flavor(s) was/were your cake? Just vanilla, it really wasn't good either!
9. What were your special dance songs (first, last, daddy/daughter, mother/son)? First song was "wedding Song" by Tracy Chapman. Dad/Mother song was Natalie Merchant. I'm terrible with music but I liked the words to these (if there were other meanings to the song I didn't care).
10. Where did you go on your honeymoon? Punta Cana, DR we went back again for our 1 year.
Hi- new joiner to the March boards... thought I'd introduce myself on a fun topic! Looking forward to learning from everyone in the next few months (I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow, this is our first baby- we're very excited!)

No particular colors- we were married outside on top of a hill at a winery- so the scenery was the decor!
6. Did you have a sit down dinner or buffet? What was on the menu?
Both my husband and I went to grad school in North Carolina, so we had a North Carolina BBQ, including pulled pork, cornbread, coleslaw...etc.
7. Did you do anything unique at your ceremony or reception?
We had our rehearsal dinner in a wine cave- a really spectacular memory that included all our favorite people. We also had a great fire pit at the reception with s'mores!
8. What flavor(s) was/were your cake?
We had three flavors of cupcakes: Chocolate ganache filled with chocolate frangelico frosting, vanilla with lemon curd frosting, and red velvet with vanilla frosting (sadly too warm for cream cheese frosting!)
9. What were your special dance songs (first, last, daddy/daughter, mother/son)?
Rainbow Connection by Kermit the Frog... we're horrible dancers. You Are My Sunshine with my father; What A Wonderful World for my husband and his mother.
10. Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Eastern Europe- Budapest, Hungary to Vienna, Austria, to Prague, C.R. It was a fantastic trip!
Great Idea! Compared to most of you my wedding was really tiny (which I loved because I hate being the center of attention!)

6. Did you have a sit down dinner or buffet? What was on the menu? We took everyone to a restaurant that overlooked the lake and let them choose off our pared down menu: Walleye, Steak, Chicken Alfredo or Salad, and our homemade wine
7. Did you do anything unique at your ceremony or reception? We made everyone stand outside for our ceremony even though it was 40* and raining; the ceremony included a commitment to SS; we sent everyone home with a bottle of our homemade wine
8. What flavor(s) was/were your cake? marble sheet cake with buttercream frosting from the bakery
9. What were your special dance songs (first, last, daddy/daughter, mother/son)? We didn't bother with music and dancing, just eating and enjoying our families' company

7. Did you do anything unique at your ceremony or reception? The DJ convienced my ham of a brother to convience other people to dress up and do the YMCA - it was priceless

Chocolate brown, Green. SPlashes of fuschia and orange. Theme was Bee's and Gorilla's (My nickname is Bee and DH's animal obsession is the Gorilla--long story but it worked.)6. Did you have a sit down dinner or buffet? What was on the menu? Semi-sit down. Served salads, appetizers and drink. Buffet line for dinner. We had vegetarian entree (artichoke ravioli), and chicken for main courses. Then salads, veggies, potatoes, etc. We also had mini burgers with toppings and cheese fires for a late night snack.7. Did you do anything unique at your ceremony or reception? We read our own vows and wrote the entire ceremony. I also got DH a HUGE gorilla cake and later he surprised me with coming out in his gorilla costume for a dance.8. What flavor(s) was/were your cake? Red velvet, carrot cake (no raisins), chocolate with coffee/mocha icing, with with strawberry buttercream. Four kinds of cupcakes and one mini cake for us.9. After 7 rounds of clomid and HcG, Three failed IUI's with an ectopic pregnancy, two shots of methotrextate, ER visits, breaks, low (3%) morphology One IVF cycle (lupron, gonal-F) that ended in another ectopic, more methotrexate, A Lap to disconnect both tubes, remove endo and a hydrosalphinx, . . .we are finally expecting TWINS from FET#1!
