Any guesses? Well, too late, we already know!
If you thought GIRL, you are right!
Kira is going to have a little SISTER!
DH is a bit disappointed and I feel bad. Personally, I'm just excited I don't have to pass along all of Kira's old clothes , but I was otherwise neutral. In fact, I admitted to him last night that regardless of what the u/s showed, along with excitement for what we *are* having, I was going to mourn *not* having the other sex, knowing this will be our last. As much as we both have been really eager to know, it's been fun knowing both sexes were possibilities.
My midwife said something was blocking the view of the baby's bowel (or was blocking her bowel itself) so we'll have another u/s. That'll make 7 appointments since my BFP, RE appointments included, and I'll have had an u/s at 6 of them. This next one will be my last though, in all likelihood.
I'll wait to post anything on FB until we have told the grandparents. Thanks for the sweet note on my wall, GypsyEsq...I'll respond later!
Re: Boy or girl? Non-subtle clue inside :)
Congrats and yay for sisters! I think it's great Kira will have a life-long best friend and the sharing of the clothes is a bonus.
I agree, I said I'd mourn whatever sex we weren't going to have because more than likely this is it for us too. But at this stage, I'm so thrilled that we're going to have 2 girls. Most of my friends have boys and I have a new nephew, so I figure I'll get my "boy" fix that way.
Girl! Yay for little and big sisters!!!
And yes, definitely good thoughts on the bowel u/s. Please do let us know when that is coming up!

Congrats on the little girl!! How exciting. I know when we have another that I will be happy with another boy but would be sad not to ever have a little girl. I am sure you DH will come around more with time.
I knew it! ;-)
Congrats on your 2nd lady! yeah!!!
Yay for little sisters!
I'd really love to have a little girl, but the idea of a little brother for Henry thrills me, too!
Thank you so much, everyone!
I know DH will be happy, esp. once he sees her face. I think it's just knowing that he will not have a son, and that I do understand. But he ADORES Kira and is SUCH a great Daddy to her (he's currently on a walk with her
) and I love that he'll have another baby daughter.
I hope it's not offensive to anyone that I said he was disappointed -- I just felt bad since he had to leave to go back to work right after the u/s and I hadn't seen him since then to talk! He told me this evening that he didn't respond at all when I made my confession last night since he hadn't really thought about it before I mentioned it.
Thank you as well for the good wishes about her bowel. Hopefully it's just a matter of being thorough. We had to have a follow up u/s after Kira's big u/s too since we couldn't fully see her heart the way she was positioned, but this one is a little scarier since there was actually something blocking it. It's currently scheduled for my next appt. on 8/19, and my midwife said I'd hear back from them if she thinks I need to schedule it before then with the MFM office.
FaithRocks, despite m/s which made each day drag, I agree 100% that time is flying! I feel that way when I look at everyone's tickers, yours included! CONGRATS again, and I hope you're feeling OK!
DavezWife, I'm glad you had a guess, LOL.
cjsbdl, yes, there's something nice about having one of each, and also something nice about the similarity, sharing clothes/stuff, etc., I think! I totally would have been thrilled either way. Truly I think most of us are thrilled either way, *esp.* on this board!
Elliek, LOL, Kira was wearing a wool skirty to the appointment, and as we were leaving I laughed at myself that I'm glad it can get more use in this house!
Thanks so much, friends!
