Moms of girls

Silly question, but what do you hang and what do you put in their dressers?

I know dresses etc but is there anything else you guys hang and feel like its easier for you guys?

  • When I had the closet space, I hung anything that could be hung.  Except maybe onesis that were specifically for sleeping or the footie pj's.  Anything that was worn "out and about"  was hung up.

Right now, Sam only has a few dresses that are hung and everything else is in her four drawers.

  • I don't hang anything. The only things hanging in the closet are the new-with-tags things that are too big and still on the store hanger. Everything else is folded.

  • I hang the dresses and put everything else in the drawers.
  • I hang dresses and outfits.  The outfits are matched up in an attempt to help DH dress her in matching clothes.

Drawers = jammies, socks, undies, swimsuits, comfy clothes (some shorts, t-shirts)

  • When she was an infant, I hung everything except socks (obviously), pajamas and onesies.  I actually rolled her onesies and had them in little plastic boxes in her dresser drawers - and each box was labled "newborn", "3 months", "6 months", etc.

Once she hit about 12 months or so, I revamped everything and started hanging only shirts, jackets and dresses.  Everything else was in her dresser - 1 drawer for pants, 1 drawer for skirts and shorts, etc.

  • I hang dresses, outfits, skirts, and nicer shirts in her closet. I have 1 drawer for pants, 1 drawer for leggings and shorts, and 1 drawer for t-shirts and pj's.

  • I hang all tops and dresses. I have pjs, and bottoms (shorts, pants, skirts) folded.

When she was younger and her clothes were tiny-er I folded a lot more. I had a small hutch dresser with just whatever she fit at the moment and adjusted the drawers accordingly (as in when I realized she had more tops they went in the big drawer, pants/shorts in smaller areas, etc). It was easier to only have what fit in reach

FYI my big mistake was washing all her baby clothes before she was born. She never wore half of them, she was/is a tiny kid and never fit what people bought her in the right season. I could have exchanged or sold a ton of stuff with the tags on it if I hadn't taken them all off and washed them. I see lots of new moms on the GP board saying they're done washing all the baby clothes and I think wait!!!!

  • I hang new stuff she hasn't worn yet or hasn't grown into yet, her dresses and cuter "going out" outfits. I have one drawer for socks, one for pajamas and sleepers, one for onesies and pants (I have a separater in the drawer to split it), one for blankets and sheets, one for diapers, and one for sleep sacks and swaddlers. I prefer to hang everything but the onesies and jammies but that's what she wears most often anyway.
  • I hang everything except her onesies, PJs and pants/shorts.

  • We hang everything but pjs (and the obvious ones like panties and socks).  I'm not sure why, as she has boatloads of drawer space.  Also, we don't hang Blake's shorts, but we do hers.  I guess I never really thought about it!

  • The only things I hang up are her nicer dresses and her school uniforms.  Everything else is in a drawer.

Mostly because she's a diva who changes her outfit about 7 times a day and she can fold and put away the clothes she wore for 5 minutes herself while hanging them back up would be harder.

  • I hang everything but PJs and undies. It is simply easier for us with 4 girls - AND the kiddos help with the laundry - for some reason it is 'funner' for them to help with hanging than folding. ;-)
