I know that the safest would be to fill the pool just as you go into labor and make sure the water does not sit untreated for more than two days.
However I have also read that it would be good to sit in your pool prior to labor starting to get used to the 'environment" in which you will be in for most of your labor.
So, the suggestions are bleach, powder bromine (both of which would produce toxic gases so I rather stay away from those) or H2O2.
Has anyone used these chemicals? It does not feel very natural but I am also being extremely lazy and avoiding having to fill the pool and completely draining it before having to fill it again!
Any advices or xps would be greatly appreciated
Re: Hydrogen Peroxide in your birth pool??
yeah I read something about salt as well but I also know that salt would not kill everything so there is still a chance I may be soaking in eeky water!
I guess refilling is the way to go! Thanks
When I was a kid, one of my cousins drowned while we were at the beach and since then I just never had an interest to "go swimming". I do not have any issues with water and I have taken baths yes, though I prefer showers. I also never learned how to swim
I just wanted to try the pool out before the birth, to see how I cope with it.
Thanks for your input though, I guess I will just sit in the bathtub instead!
This is what we did last time.
