A little TMI...with a question

Has anyone ever had a vaginal yeast/bacterial infection that wouldn't go away?  I'm only a few days in the clear after six f*cking weeks of this.  Six weeks, two trips to the obgyn, diflucan, metronidazole, mycostatin, benzocaine, and hydrocortisone.  W.T.F.

I threw away the diva cup, my shower sponge, the bar soap that dh uses, bleached the sheets and towels.

Has anyone else ever been through something like this that would not go away?

have they tested to see what it is?  Like is it yeast or bacterial?

  • I also was given a seven day of metronidazole and had an allergic reaction after three days.  The doc said sometimes just one day works but to obviously stop taking it.

I was going to type this exact statement.  With some types of vaginal infections both parties need to be treated otherwise the person being treated will just continue to get it if the other person doesn't get treated at the same time.

  • Yes, when I was pregnant.  It was associated with hormones.
  • Have you tried that AZO Yeast stuff? It rocks.

  • About the passing it back and forth - that's the first thing I asked the obgyn.  She says we'll treat you with the metronidazole now and go from there.  So I guess this means I'm an experiment, huh?  Nice....

    Thanks for the input gals!

  • I've never had one but I have been reading about the natural supplement oilmif oregano and when u google it, it says it works awesome for a yeast infection. You could go to a vitamin store and ask about it?
  • I hope you feel better soon
