light brown discharge?

So DH and I had intercourse about a week ago before bed. The next morning I woke up and went pee and there was a quarter sized brown spot on my undies! Not sure if it came out brown or it came out red and turned brown over night.

Anyhow, called MD and they said its totally normal in early pregnancy for this to happen after sex due to cervix getting irritated. She advised to stop having sex until my apt. on the 30th.

Now today (a week later, with no sex) I noticed a tiny amount of very light brown discharge on my panty liner. Hasn?t happened since...but I am blowing google up all day trying to figure out if this is OK.

NEVER happened with last pregnancy. Anyone else having odd colored discharge/spotting?

    Brown spotting is ok, I think it's when it turns bright red that you should be concerned.

    I have had spotting/bleeding/discharge of every amount and color with this  pregnancy and with DD and everything has always been fine. Looking for info online is the worst thing you can do, you will focus on the scary stuff instead of trying to relax and accept that spotting is VERY common. Use it as an excuse to put your feet up:)

     what did they tell you @ docs office about your spotting, etc? I was a little annoyed when I called in and they sorta blew me off.. They were like ?the only time you need to be concerned is if your having period like bleeding and soaking through a pad an hour. What?!! That seems *extreme* and a no- brainier. LOL If I even saw ANY red blood I?d be straight in the ER. Since it?s been 5 years since my sons were born this feels like the FIRST time for me again so Im sooo paranoid. I really don?t want to stress the baby out so I gotta get it under control :)

    Yup brown = old blood, could have been in there since implantation or something else. You're fine. It's bright red, and cramping that you have to worry about.

    I have always gone in and had and an ultrasound whenever I have bleeding, mostly b/c I request it not b/c the office feels I should. I find it hard to relax even though by now I know chances are evrything is good. I think just going in and seeing a heartbeat is important, once you see that you can feel very reassured even if you have spotting again. And even red blood does mean it is over, you reeally can not make any assumptions, everyone is so different.

    I've had brown discharge since last night around 6 p.m.   It showed up about two hours after an internal exam with my ob.  Of course, today of all days I don't have as many symptoms as usual - just to extra freak me out.  I've had a little cramping too - not major - but a little more than normal.

    Called nurse prac and she had me come into get a blood test to check my hormone levels to "ease my mind."  She's calling back tomorrow morning with the results.  She thought I was probably 100% fine and not to be alarmed though.
