I would do it after a few days post O. I figure your going to be having lots of sex and will need to get some knots worked out and hopefully a nice massage can keep your mind off of wanting to POAS.
Maybe Im an idiot but could massage do "something" to effect your O? I actually got a massage last week and remembered how much I love them. I say go on the Friday to start out your weekend of sexing right!
FWIW... my massage therapist says that massage therapists are taught that there are certain pressure points that they learned can induce contractions (which of course will not work if you are past your due date). She mentioned that once I did get pregnant to let her know and she would avoid rubbing in those area just in case.

You are not supposed to get a massage at all during 1st tri. A lot of places will massage you in 2nd and 3rd tri, but it is not recommended during 1st tri.
I don't know if this helps but I got quite alot of massages and complementary therapies whilst TTC. I was v stressed at work and I wanted to be more relaxed. I had a 1 hour reflexology session the day before I got pregnant with DS. It could be coincidental but the therapist said that there was a blockage showing up in one of my ovaries and she worked on it during the session.(She didn't know that we were trying to TTC) Two weeks later I got my BFP.
Re: Poll: Massage
Both. :-)
Um, I don't know. I wouldn't get a massage when I have my period just for comfort purposes, but besides that I wouldn't give it any thought.

I would do it whenever you feel you need it most.
That is exactly what I was thinking. Doing it pre-o cant hurt, right?!?
Dr. Google isn't helping!

ETA: I was referring to cantalopes - ooops! Forgot the quote
