oprah or dr. phil or the like?
millionaire or price is right? How about in the audience?
judge judy? people's court?
i feel like I know a lot of people who know a lot of people. Yet, I can't think of anyone first hand who has been on such shows? You? please share!
Re: ever been on a TV talk/game show?
A former high school classmate of mine was on Wheel of Fortune. That's all I got.
Well, a guy my dad worked with bought a car from a guy that won it on Wheel of Fortune in California. lol
It didn't have AC. In Arkansas, that's no fun. It was a nice Mustang though.
There have been a couple of people from some of the nearby small towns on Wheel of Fortune too. I didn't know any of them personally though.
I don't know anyone that was on a talk show or game show, but I know a girl that was on Punk'd, the first season. Her parents were good customers of my parents.
I want to take our former tenant on Judge Judy so she could get an earful!
I have not. A friend of mine was on Judge Judy once with his ex-gf. It was pretty damn funny because she reamed them both. lol My high school drama teacher was on Who wants to be a Millionaire - the original one. He didn't do so well.
I WANT to be on Cash Cab. I freakin LOVE that show - it makes me feel brilliant because I know all the answers. And Ben is hot, so that's always nice.
One of our family friends was on Jeopardy and won a ton of money - over $100K. He also went to the winner's tournament thing but didn't do so well. He's in the process of trying out for Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
In 7th grade, our whole 7th grade class in middle school went to a taping of some game show on Nickelodian (not Double Dare, but a new one that was similar to it). We all got a chance to try out for it before hand and one of my really good friends got on. I think she won a trip to space camp!
My mom and dad WON the Newlywed Game (they are now divorced - ironic, eh?)
My mom also was on Hollywood Squares and on some show from the 70s called Gambit
(we grew up in SO CA - hence all the game shows, lol)
Good friends of my husband are obsessed with The Price Is Right. So much so that when they got married a few years ago, they went to California for their honeymoon and made a visit to the studio where the show is taped part of the trip. We were hoping that because they had just gotten married that they would get picked, but it didn't happen.
I have been telling DH since we met that he should go on Millionaire because he is a bottomless pit of information/facts. I refuse to play Trivial Pursuit with him because he rarely doesn't know the answer. It makes me feel like a dope.
My husband's best friend was on Cash Cab. He and two friends won $800! He said it was set up beforehand with producers that they would get into a cab and something would happen, but they didn't know what.
I watched a taping of 3 eps of College Jeopardy. They were free tickets my office was giving out, and it was across the street from work, so we decided to go. I thought Alex was smarmy off-camera. And also, they re-take quite a few things for continuity at the end of an episode, and splice the new takes in, so it's not as "live" as it looks.
My mom and I went to a taping of the Jay Leno Show. The guests were Shelly Winters and the co-star from the movie The Mask (w/ Jim Carry) and the singer was Bjork. We were in line for the Susanne Summers show, but the line was too long and we had better things to do, so we left before actually watching the show.
This isn't tv, but me, dh and the boys were in DC when George Bush (he was in office at the time) drove by in his limo, rolled down the window and waved to us. That was kinda a shock we weren't expecting to see.
Dh tried to get on Jeopardy a few times but they start out with a random drawing and he never got picked. He knows like EVERY answer on that show... we could be SO rich... maybe some day.
That's about it.
