Due date confussion dr. vs. computer :)

I went to see my regular family dr. yesterday, he wanted to see me since I can't get into my OB till August 5th and I haven't had a check up in awhile.

Before I went to the Dr. I had entered in my LMP and my usual cycle length of 33 days online in several places I got a due date of 3-25-2011, but the dr. told me it was 4-19-2011.

He didn't even ask me my usual cycle length which the online calculators do. When I entered the 4-19-2011 due date into my bump profile it said I was only 1 week pregnant. And I think I am having way to many symptoms for that. WDYT?

When was your LMP? I was under the impression that most Dr use the typical 28 day cycle so I am not sure how they could be off yours by a month. Did you ask how they calculate?

Huh? If you were 1 week pregnant you wouldn't have even ovulated yet!

No I didn't ask I just kind of sat there trying to do math in my head while I half listened to him. But I'm pretty sure he did the calculations incorrectly. After talking to some others with the same LMP date or close to me, 6-12.

I just responded on the March Moms board too. I think that they may have misspoke on the month. If you go with a 28 day "typical" cycle (which very few women have), it puts you at 3/19. They may have meant March and said April! GL!

Only an ultrasound and the measurements of the baby can give you an exact date. You could have ovulated later or earlier than your calculations. There is no such thing as one week pregnant because at 1 week you are not pregnant yet. Even after your OB gives you a due date based on your ultrasound measurements, it can change on the next appointment. Due dates change and they are just approximate dates, nobody knows for sure when the baby will be born.
