DD#1's cord took about 5 weeks to fall off and DD#2 is almost 2 weeks and it looks like there's no end in sight since her cord is bleeding off and on where it meets her tummy. We never did anything with A's cord, just let it be and it took forever. I don't mind it staying on, it's the bleeding part that's problematic. Not sure if there are any recommended ways to care for it.
Thanks!
Re: Any tips or tricks for getting the cord to dry up/fall off?
We used alcohol wipes at each diaper change. Either the Pedi or one of hte hospital nurses told us this would help it along.
We'd squeeze the wipes so the alcohol would drop on the belly button/cord. It feel off in less than 3 weeks.
BFP with no treatment!
we used the wipes too. as most things that happened in those first 3 months, i don't remember when it fell off.
just don't call it the raisen. my sister called it that with my nephew and it fell off and dissapeared. when she turned around her 20 month old daughter had it in her mouth.
We're going on Thursday...fingers crossed that he'll do it.
Our doctor told us the same thing, and it took about 4 weeks to fall off.
Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

Ours is almost ready to fall off and we are two weeks out. We use the alcohol wipes at each diaper change. Just wipe around the cord and then squeeze it around the cord. Dr. said it should fall off this week. HTH!
We need to do lunch or something when we're both out and about in a few weeks. I need to meet Mr. K!
