What's DC wearing to bed and what temp is it in their room?

DS was being swaddled with the miracle blanket but he started busting out of it so i got rid of it. Anyway when he was being swaddled he was only wearing a diaper and we kept our room at 72. Now that he isn't being swaddled i have been putting him in just a onesie and turned the air to 74 but his legs and arms have been feeling a little cold in the morning.

So what does your DC wear to bed and what's the temp in their room?

  • Evey wears a sleep sack, and on nights where her room is really warm (super hot days) I just put her in that and have the fan blowing.  On other nights I put her in a onesie and then her sleep sack....

  • We have our house at 68 at nighttime. I usually just have her in a cotton or jersey sleeper. She seems fine in them. When it's REALLY hot outside I will put her to sleep in a onesie, but the other nights she's most always in a sleeper.
  • We keep her room at 74 and she sleeps in a footed cotton long sleeve sleeper like the Carter's ones.  She seems fine not too cold or hot.
  • My DD likes to be warm so we have been placing her in cotton footie jammies and then a swaddle sleepsack.  She is busting out of her swaddle now though so the last few nights I have just placed her in a long sleeve onesie (so that when she busts out her arms are not bare) and the sleep sack.  So far so good.  It is pretty warm in our room too. Probably about 78 at night.  She seems comfortable and sleeps her usual 10-11 hours.

If you are worried, I would get at least a cotton sleep sack.  They are light enough that LO won't get overheated, but will keep the chills away.  They even make some with sleeves, you just have to look for them a little harder.  GL! HTH!

  • We have our air set at 74 and DD always wears a onsie and a sleeper to bed in her crib... no blanket.

  • We don't have A/C so LO has been wearing a onesie. If the night is really cool we put him in a light sleeper with the window cracked open a little.

  • We keep our apartment at 72-73 degrees as it has been in the upper 90's here in St. Louis.  She always sleeps in a light weight cotton footed sleeper!  Ocassionally her hands are chilly in the morning, but she is not hot or cold!

  • DS seems to naturally be warm (always sweating if he wears clothes to bed)  so he sleeps in his diaper.  We keep the house about 70 and his room is the warmest room (upstairs with full sun most of the day).  We have a few times when the night is a little cooler put him in a onsie.. but he still seems warm when he wakes up.

  • Our house is set on 74 usually.  I always have DD in footed jammies.  Some are thick cotton, some are a little heavier....she is comfy.  Sometimes her hands are chilly in the mornings.  But I read where you just need to feel the back of their neck to determine if they're hot or cold.
  • we usually keep our a/c on 70-71 at night, and DS room usually stays between 71 and 73. we put him in a long sleeve side snap shirt and his sleep sack.
  • We put her in a onesie and do a loose swaddle from the waste down with an A&A blanket.  Her room is often close to 80 degrees because the circulation in our house sucks, no matter what we keep the thermostat set at.
