Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Which Sippy Cups do you use?

Which sippy cups does your 1 year old use?  I had purchased some Nuby sports bottle ones, but they leak everywhere.

Also, do you use a separate sippy for milk versus water?

Re: Which Sippy Cups do you use?

  • First Year's Take 'n Toss are the only ones he will use. And he drinks both milk and juice/water from them.  He also drank formula from them before he turned 1 and had already ditched his bottle.

  • Right now DS is loving his Munchkin straw cups.

At one year old, I'm pretty sure he was using straw cups as well as the Born Free cups.

    I like privacy. A lot.
  • I used Nuby Soft Spout till he was about 14 months and then we switched to Playtex Locking Tops because the Nuby leaked. We use milk in them too. They don't leak at all, they are great

  • We had problems with all the soft spout cups leaking, so we've used the Playtex insulated cups for a while now.

  • At a year, she was using a Munchkin straw cup and the Safe Sippy.
  • We use Playtex Tumblers. Love them!!!

  • With spouts:

Playtex, with the cats and dogs on it. Don't leak at all that I can tell, we leave one in his crib at night filled with water and there are never any wet spots in the morning.

We have one (I believe) Gerber, with a sailboat on it. Works well, but because of the size/handles, B doesn't like it much.

    With straws:

Playtex flip and sip, both the colored translucent blue/green and the insulated solid with the cars. The translucent have weirdly short straws, but with tilting they work fine, but apparently you can call and they'll send you longer ones like the ones that come in the insulated variety. We use these for water, or water/juice.

Munchikin, flip and sip. We have two, and I prefer these for milk. No real reason, I just think they work better for thicker liquids. I really like these.

We also have one with a thick straw, I think it might be a Nuby, but I don't use it unless all others are dirty. If dropped it leaks profusely from the straw, and it's harder for B to get liquids out (or it was when he first started on straws). The slow-fast valve is built-in, so you can't (edited) unstop it to make the flow faster.

  • We just switched to Tommee Tippee straw sippys from BRU.  I love them because they don't leak one bit.

  • The boys love the Munchkin cups.  They use the regular sippies and the ones with straws.

The Nuby are okay for them, but the tops always get sucked down in and they can't drink, so I have to release the pressure for them to get more liquid.

  • We started with a couple of the Avent Magic Sippies.  They were a great way to teach him, but they leaked.  We switched to the playtex (or whatever is on sale) hard spout and now just use the Avent for water.
  • We have so many. We use Gerber, Munchkin and Take & Toss Sippy's. We use the Munchkin ones mainly for water.  The rest we use for milk. For when were on the go we'll use the Gerber ones because those are 100% leak proof, never had a leak.
  • My son uses the Gerber Graduates Sip and Smile. We have the small size (with the handle attached to the lid) and the larger size... He loves them. The only problem we have is occasionally the valve will come loose and fall into cup. We use the Take N Toss to keep in the diaper bag.. but we wash and reuse them unless we have milk in there.

I use the smaller cups for Juice, and the larger cups for milk and water. He doesn't have any yet with a straw. HMM... Prolly should get him a couple.

  • I've used every single kind of sippy cup, we are now using anything with a straw or a harder spout. Anything that is soft, Addyson tips over and squeezes all the stuff out!

  • The take & toss ones E loves the most. She always uses the Playtex ones with the straw.
