hanging lanterns from ceiling...

My DH doesn't want us to damage the ceiling by hanging the paper lanterns....what did you guys use to attach and hang your lanterns to the ceiling?

Re: hanging lanterns from ceiling...

  • I'm not sure what you mean by damaging a ceiling - you can fill in holes in a ceiling just like a wall...

We used hooks similar to these, only in white to match the ceiling color.

  • Thanks. I totally agree re: damaging/filling in holes...I guess I'm just looking for the least invasive way.
  • I don't know how many you're hanging, and if you're using the light inside of them or not.  If you're not using the light, a push pin would probably do just fine.  We have a light inside, so we needed 2 hooks to keep the cord up.

  • If you're not using the light, they can be held up by fishing wire and tacks.

  • Second what everyone else said about pushpins/tacks. no one will ever even know.

This is what we used with fishing line, looks great!

  • Speaking of lanterns...

Do any of you have pics of your lanterns? Where did you purchase from?

Do you think they work for a neutral nursery, or are they typically more girly?

  • When I was in my apt.  I had a high ceilings and we attached them witht the command hooks and then secured the cords with the cord hanger command.  They were up for 2 years.  I think we will use a hook this time since it is our house.  I'm using a latern in our son's nursery.
