I am 5' 8" and have always been athletic and now 14 weeks pregnant. And I KNOW all women carry different but I'm showing a lot! From everything thing I've read and been told, tall slim woman usually don't show hardly at all until later in their pregnancy.
Can you ladies post some pictures of your bellies at 14wks so that I don't feel quite so alone. Or the fact that I need to realize that all woman really do carry differently.
Thanks
Re: Showing a lot or a little?
Im only 5 2" and i swear I woke up one morning with this (15 wks. 1 day). One day there was nothing the next.............. The pic is a little stretched cause I have no idea how to size it correctly but this baby wants to say hello to the world. Embrace the bump.
Yes, it's just how we carry. There are other variables like how much fluid you've got, etc. It sounds like we are about the same height and build and I also showed early and am still relatively big for my size (I think).
Here is a photo of me at 14 weeks:
Be nice. She didn't seem like she was bragging to me. If she is used to being tall and slim and seeing other tall and slim preggos with tiny little bumps maybe she feels a little insecure about it . No need to judge. These boards are for support.
HAH!
I am turning over a new leaf and trying real hard to be nice
Oh geez... You are in for a rude awakening if you really believe this.
Thats sad. Being a first time mom-to-be I go on here for support. Unfortunately I have found that some ladies on here are out to put newbies in their place and somehow feel better about themselves while putting others down and being rude. I think that this girl was looking for some reassurance and instead she got bitchy responses from women who have nothing better to do but make others feel stupid. Get over yourselves. Fortunately you have just totally turned me off to these boards and probably won't see me post on here again. I have good friends and family who can answer my questions in a supportive, non-judgmental way. Hope all stays well with all of you.

Here we go again....
my read shelf:
Oh for the love of....don't let the door hit you on the way out....
Thank you to everyone who is being positive and knowing where I'm coming from. I'm sorry for those whose hormones have taken over they're body and turned them into a heinous preggo. Maybe you just need to find another outlet to get your unhappiness and anger out.
Have a pleasant and nice day
wow... it's really not that serious.
bye!
Oh, for goodness sake. She didn't sound braggy. People are too touchy.
I'm the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of height - I'm under 5'2"- although I do have a small build (ack! Am I bragging??
) and I assumed I would show really soon, especially since I have a really really short torso. Even the nurse at my doctor's office said I had "no place to go but out!"
And yet, here was me at 15 weeks. Go figure. I think the shape of your pelvis and a bunch of other random factors come into play. There's no way to know how/why the bump will show up.
Lissasue I
you
OP, there's a pic in my blog from 14 weeks if you'd like to see.

I agree it could be constipation or some bloating, but we all do carry in our own ways! My friend is shorter than me and it took her awhile to show, she was carrying more inward than out, if thats makes much sense..
Jxm- on the tri boards there is much more drama and bitchiness and mose girls who don't like it prefer to stay on the month boards where its not always like that. I have just always been a *** but I know my hormones make me even more so, so I just give it back and could care less who responds to my posts or what they say.
DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease
DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
Lisasue, we are here to support each other and make the slim people feel good about themselves. Hopefully she has only gain .5 pounds by now as well, because she is ONLY 14 weeks.
Those cats always know exactly what to say LOL
Like you said, everyone shows differently.
Or, perhaps your 4 tickers for the same pregnancy are causing your bump to grow at an abnormal rate. You might want to look into that.
