I need some advice. I am doing a marshmallow fondant for Cora's party on Saturday. It's a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and I'm doing a light chocolate frosting before I do the fondant. I was planning on making the cake Friday. Will the fondant be ok at room temp for 24 hours? It is suppose to be hot and humid Saturday but we'll be in the a/c so it will be around 70 in here. Or should I wait til Sat morning to assemble the cake? Put it in the fridge? Thoughts?
Re: If you've done a fondant cake
I've done several fondant cakes (but not professionally). You aren't supposed to put fondant cakes in the refrigerator. Keeping it a room temperature is absolutely ok.
Please don't wait until Saturday to assemble the cake. In my experience, unless you are a professional, you will need the time for do-overs because things always go wrong.
What will it look like? I love fondant cakes, good luck!
