If you transitioned to the crib for naps

I put DS in his crib for his nap this morning, because he was having trouble going down in any of his usual spots (swing, blanket on the floor, bouncy seat, my arms) and quite frankly the whining was getting to be like nails on a chalkboard. Well, now he has been sleeping longer than he normally does, and this has me wondering if it will mess up his schedule, or what schedule he has.

Did you transition your LO to the crib for naps? If so, did it have any effect on their schedule, particularly going down at night?

  • Nope! Sleep begets sleep and DS will take longer naps during the day and still sleep 12 hours at night.

I hope this is the case! DS is a great sleeper at night, but fights every nap during the day, until I put him in his crib. I don't want to mess up the night thing though!

  • We actually had him nap in his crib during the day from day 1. It made it much easier when we transistioned to the crib at night.

I say as long as he associates his crib with sleep, it doesn't matter the time.
