I just pop mine in my mouth and then take a big drink of something. I figure it's about the size of something maybe I haven't chewed up so well. If I take a big drink and just swallow, I don't even feel it going down. Does that make sense?
I had that problem for the first time yesterday. I've never had a problem swallowing vitamins or pills before that!
What I normally do is put the vitamin in my mouth, take a drink and swallow. Didn't work yesterday. What DH does (and suggested) was to take a big drink first, shove the vitamin through your lips and swallow the drink and vitamin that way. For some reason it worked much better for me yesterday.
If it all fails and you aren't able to get your daily vitamin, I know some ladies are approved by their Drs to chew 2 Flinstones vitamins instead. Obviously talk to your Dr first before that.

I have a hard time swallowing them. I've always had difficulty swallowing large pills, but it's a lot worse now. Usually if I put the vitamin far back on my tongue, tip my head back and take a big gulp of water it goes down ok. The key for me is to get the pill far back so I don't feel it as much.

This, except it started a couple days ago... It's so weird!! I dread taking them now. Regular Tylenol isn't so bad, but my PNV's are bigger and they make me gag every time now!
I always have trouble taking big pills, I have to be in the right frame of mind to take mine. I did see gummy prenatals at Target last week, I am tempted to try those when I run out of my current ones.
I take mine with dinner. I'll eat a little food first, take them, then finish my meal. That way it kind of tricks my throat into thinking its just food. If I don't feel like I can get them down, i'll take flintsones. But I try not to do that too often, since I want the DHA in my PNV.
Good luck, you've gotten lots of good tricks to try from the other ladies.

I went through a phase like that last time, a few weeks where I just could NOT swallow a pill. I have no idea what started it or how it stopped, but it was very weird. Glad to know I'm not some oddball freak!

Yup. Swallowing pills is something I dread all day. I have to take a lot of pills for a clotting disorder so I've developed a few strategies:
1) Swallow them with something other than water. Juice or lemonade helps mask the smell or, heaven forbid, taste.
2) Keep them with you all day so you can take them when you're feeling your best.
3) Have a little something to eat after swallowing. It helps me to keep things moving down.
4) If big yucky prenatals are just too much to bear, my midwife said 2 Flintstones are fine.
5) If I start to feel pukey just thinking about it, deep, calm breaths help.
