Bottles = gas?

I'm using Dr. Brown's bottles, since they are supposed to prevent alot of gas, but it seems my baby is still quite gassy.  I was considering trying the playtex dropins to see if she is any better with those.  Do you think it's the bottles and would help to switch?

Re: Bottles = gas?

  • We use Drop-Ins and give Mylicon with every feeding (it's not a use when necessary medication...it only does what it's supposed to if given regularly) and we don't have any problems with gas. I can't say for sure if it is your bottles, as we have never used Dr. Brown's.

  • This happened to use with Avent bottles.  They made DS really gassy so we switched to the Playtex Ventaire Wide ones and haven't had any problems.

  • It could also be the formula... or in general bottles will make them more gassy than BF if that is what you are comparing it too.  Before buying all new bottles maybe see if anyone you know has a different brand bottle you could sterilze and try?

  • I use the Playtex drop ins and have never had a problem with gas. They seem to work great.
