Clomid veterans & chart stalkers, lend me your...eyes! ![]()
I know that Clomid can increase your BBT. What I don't know is how long that effect should last.
I've tried to do some "research" (okay, more like "Google search") on this, but wanted to see if any of you have better info. From what I read, the elevated temps maybe last a few days after the last pill, then slowly decline only to rise again with O?
I'm in that magic 5-14 day post-Clomid window, so of course I'm overanalyzing everything. Does anyone think I could've O'ed already? (Normally, my pre-O BBTs are in the 96s & post-O they're in the 97s.) Plus, I had a really weird AF last time (VERY light, mostly brown spotting, & only for a few days). Have NO idea what THAT means.
No, I'm not doing OPKs because I don't think I'd be able to reliably take them in the early afternoon like you're supposed to, & I feel like that would just stress me out more.
Any insights are greatly appreciated. Have a great day, ladies!!!
Re: Clomid & BBTs
Clomid makes my chart spastic. All I can say, is when the rise for O happens, it's obvious. But often you don't know until a day or two after the fact when your temp stays high.
So, my advice, (and I wish I had taken my own this cycle.) Just BD like crazy! I thought I had O'd early, and ended up not O'ing until over a week late.
Hang in there, and I hope the chart gets easier to interpret.
Thank you, swanck! DH & I are on the every other day sex schedule until further notice.
And even though he's not feeling well, he manned up yesterday for an "on" day! (I gave him the option for deferral, but he pressed on anyway!)
Thanks for that tip & for sharing your experience. Hope the chart "tea leaves" start becoming more clear soon, too.
I'm on my first Clomid cycle (50 mg) and this seems to be exactly what my temps have done (you can click on my chart ticker).
The funny thing is....they were definitely elevated at the beginning of my cycle (CD9-CD11), but once they "stabilized " (so to speak), they've actually been lower than normal.
Huh. That is weird. But you're looking good for CD15, though...do you think you O'ed then? (Maybe FF will give you CHs tomorrow.)
Yeah, I played around with FF (
) and as long as my temp is >97.4, I'll get solid CH tomorrow. I'm 99% sure I Oed b/c I've had tons of creamy CM (tmi) yesterday and today, which I always get right after O.
I'm kind of weirded out by the fact that I Oed the same day as my +OPK, but on the other hand that +OPK was at like 5 am, so perhaps it would've been positive 12 hours earlier.
CONFESSION: Once I get solid CHs, I'm thinking about deleting those first three high temps to make my chart prettier.
Thanks so much! I hope we both get BFPs!
I am sooooooo freaking excited that I Oed on CD15 (and on only 50 mg). I'm still in shock.
It's seriously unbelievable to me that many many women O this early on their own....every single month.
Last thing (and maybe a bad thing to tell you, haha):
You do know that you can search Fertility Friend charts and single out those using Clomid, right? I spent HOURS looking at hundreds of charts of ovulatory cycles on the Clomid CD3-CD7 protocol to see what day most people Oed. You could look at them to get an idea of elevated temps....
SQUEE!!!! I only thought VIP members could search for charts!!! Uh-oh. You've unleashed the chart beast!
And, I agree about seeing women who O regularly, on schedule...it's gotten so that I don't even expect to O anymore (sad).
Hopefully this cycle will be different!
P.S. If everything works out, I promise I won't tell about your "airbrushed" chart.
Okay, Lindsay, you inspired me.
If I get >97.68 tomorrow, it'll give me dashed CHs for CD15. Which is maybe exciting!
