Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

What do u feed your 13 mo old?

I make all our food and try to limit the use of prepared food. I've played around with wholesomebabyfood.com and weelicious.com and feel that most of their "toddler" recipies and finger foods are a bit advanced for what LO is able (in terms of chewing) or willing to eat. I'm worried that I'm being a bit too cautious, but know that it takes babies up to two years to get their molars which we typically use to chew our food.

Just curious to see what others are feeding their 13 mo olds.

Thanks!

  • bananas, grapes, strawberries, waffles, french toast sticks, chicken nuggets, chex mix, hot dogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hummus on bread, Danonino yogurt (so DS can eat it himself), cheeto puffs, pretzels, goldfish, apple (no skin), peaches (no skin), nectarines (no skin), canned pears, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, etc.

Everything is obviously cut into bite sized pieces to avoid choking.

He eats almost everything we do.  I have a ton of baby food recipes in my blog.  DS has loved most of them.

  • Everything!  DD loves chicken and beans the most, but has a great appetite for all fruit and most veggies.  She especially loves bread.

  • My daughter still eats mostly purees.  I think she has a texture issue or maybe it is because she only has two teeth.  But she will eat pancakes, waffles, bagels with cream cheese, bites of cheese, goldfish, cheerios, nutrigrain bars, pasta sauce (hates the noodles), quesadillas, grilled cheese.  Basically any carbs, lol :) I keep trying to give her bites of fruits, veggies, or meat, but she won't eat them yet.  She would rather have her purees!
  • He eats mostly everything we do, except cut into little pieces.  Chicken, steak, fish, tofu soft steamed veggies and rice and pasta. He loves spaghetti and meatballs..I just use scissors to cut it up...at first into really tiny pieces but now he's better at chewing with his gums... For snacks he has sliced apples, peeled grapes sliced in half, peanut butter sandwiches, cereal puffs, string cheese, melon, earths best graham crackers.  Just introduce it slowly...at first cut up everything really small and they'll get the hang of it....
  • the girls are eating (well at least trying) everything we eat...last night we had turkey tacos and milina took 'em to the face...she especially loved them dipped in sour cream...ava not so much so she had plain tortilla pieces and cheese instead and then we gave them both some fruit...but they will pretty much eat what everyone else has posted...
  • Pretty much everything we eat, just cut up really small.

I'm not crazy, I've just been a very bad mood for the last 40 years!
