Secondhand Cloth Diapers?

Is this safe?  I'm wondering if buying extras from Craig's List or eBay is a good idea...

Re: Secondhand Cloth Diapers?

  • Quite a bit of my diapers have been second hand.  As long as you wash them first, they SHOULD be okay.  Besides Craigslist, you can check diaperswappers.com, the swap spot and Spot's Corner on hyena cart.

  • I'm totally fine with it. I'll wash anything that I get second hand before it will touch LO or his bottom.

  • 99% of my diapers were used.  I never had a problem.  Actually...the ones I bought new were the ones that held up the worst.  I think it was just that I had a smaller stash at first.  But either way...second hand is fine and a great way to save $$.

  • I got most of mine used, on Swap Spot
  • I have 6 brand new BGs & 1 NWT Imse Vimse AIO (that I bought on spots corner) but the rest of my covers, prefolds, pockets and AIO's are all used. :) Doesn't bother me any! I'd rather buy used than see them go to waste when they are still in good condition. Part of "recycling" in my mind!

  • I've bought a bunch of used diapers and have never had a problem.  I always wash them with a bit of bleach the first time just to make sure any undisclosed yuckies are gone before putting them on my DD.
