My LO has learned to love "DO-RE-MI", not exactly a lullaby, but for some reason it makes him listen to me extremely intently and kinda giggle a bit too. When I sing this song to him, I can stop his crying, change his diaper/clothes, brush his hair without him even moving an inch! When he was smaller I used to sing all sorts of lullabies to him, but this one he enjoyed the most and it stuck with both of us and I think it will for a long time to come ... and now that I have 2 more on the way, I hope it works for them too! ;o)
BTW - my DH's and my wedding dance was to the Hawaiin version of "Somewhere over the rainbow".

My favorite lullaby is from Disneys Cinderella " A Dream is a Wish you heart makes". It reminds me of when I was a child and gives me a warm feeling inside. It brings out the inner child where you beleive you can do anything as long as you beleive in it.
My Favorite is The MockingBird Lullaby Because it gives a calm soothingness and feel to your voice telling your young one that you will have only the best of all thing for him or her even if the things are not the best it tells the young one that he of she is and that mamma and daddy loves them no matter what.
I love the Mockingbird lullaby it puts a sense of calm and soothingness to your voice Promising all the best things to your child even if those things are not the best at the end of the song it tells your child they are the best and the mamma and daddy loves them no matter what. It just as a sweet toon humming to it or even singing it.
My favorite lullaby isn't a lullaby at all it is Copperhead Road by Steve Earle my dad sang it to me as a baby and I plan to sing it to Kanden. My dad said every time he got to sing it to me when he came home from the airforce I would immediatly stop crying and calm down for him. It made my mom very jealous.
Mine has always been "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". My mother use to play it for me growing up and it would always make me imagine myself in a field with flowers everywhere with just my mother and I. It was also one of the first songs I took in singer lessons as a young girl, and my mother tried to teach it to me on the piano. Whenever I hear it now it just makes me think back to my child hood how blessed I was to have such a wonderful mother that gave me so much. I hope to pass the tradition along!!
Mine is somewhere over the rainbow. I love this song in all forms and it seems that no matter who sings the song and what genre it falls in, it is always so beautiful!
I see the moon (and) the moon sees me
The moon sees the somebody I'd like to see
God Bless the moon and God Bless me
And God Bless the somebody I'd like to see.
It seems to me that God above
Created you for me to love
He picked you out from all the rest
Because he knew I loved you best
I once had a heart as good as new
But now it's gone from me to you
Take care of it as I have done
For you have two and I have none
If I get to heaven and you're not there
I'll carve your name on a golden stair
A way up high for all to see
Just how much you mean to me
I see the moon (and) the moon sees me
The moon sees the somebody I'd like to see
God Bless the moon and God Bless me
And God Bless the somebody I'd like to see.
It seems to me that God above
Created you for me to love
He picked you out from all the rest
Because he knew I loved you best
I once had a heart as good as new
But now it's gone from me to you
Take care of it as I have done

Grew up with this song around campfires when the moon was out!
My favorite is You Are My Sunshine. My great grandmother used to sing it to my parents and to us. We played it at her funeral too as a tribute to her too.
Over the rainbow by Dena Carter - it was our wedding song 7 years ago! And after waiting for so long for her to be here with us, she is our rainbow after the rain.
My favorite lullaby is "You Are My Sunshine." I still remember not only both my parents singing this to me as I was rocked to sleep, but also my grandma who is turning 95 years old the week our first baby is due! This is a memory with my grandma I will hold onto as she is gaining in her years! This song ALWAYS brings a smile to my face and calms my nerves!
Sadly my "favourite" lullaby right now is Hush little baby only because that's the one that I know the lyrics to... Over the Rainbow by Isreal was on our wedding CD that we gave out, but there are so many more that I like but can't sing... and now my baby is probably tone def from my singing and humming!
Brahm's Lullaby. It's my favorite to sing to DH as her mobile plays it She loves twinkle twinkle little star, for some reason she gets comfort each time she hears it.

Somewhere over the rainbow - Bruddah IZ version... because it was the first song DH and I heard on our honeymoon in Kauai, it set the pace for a wonderful honeymoon and a wonderful marriage. It also calms our DD down whenever she's fussy and lulls her to sleep. We love it!
Every night I used to rock my baby girl to sleep by singing "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan . Now she is getting to be a big girl and wants to put herself to sleep but every once in awhile will let me rock her. Soon we will hopefully have another little one for me to sing to sleep.
My favorite lullaby to sing my son is one that I made up, but I also love singing him one callled Animal Fair that my mother sang to me when I was little.

My favorite lullaby is not a traditional lullaby per se, but it is certaintly soothing and oh so pretty; "Moon River" by Andy Williams.
Besides the usual kiddy songs and classical music to play for your belly, Andy Williams, "Moon River" is definitely one to share with your little one!
