Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Sexy time is not so sexy anymore

Is anyone else having trouble getting your groove back on? I'm still breastfeeding so thats a challange in itself..but after almost 4 months I would have thought the discomfort would have gone away! Plus I swear my Doctor sewed me up WAY too much! lol

It's still pretty painful so I'm NOT in the mood very often because, Who wants to do it when it hurts??!! Poor DH has been paitent but this is sooo annoying! Am I the only one? Does this get better in time or with more practice?

Re: Sexy time is not so sexy anymore

  • I'm there with you.  I've started talking to DH more about it.  I've decided that it needs to be like when we first started having sex and talked about what we liked and what we didn't.

  • It is like you just typed exactly what i was thinking earlier today! lol. I sure hope it does get better! :)
  • I was in the same boat as you. Sexy time has not been so sexy for us either. But the more practice, the better. It's been so-so since I got my "good to go" at 6 weeks pp. Finally, last night was *amazing*... like the old times! Hang in there and remember, practice makes perfect ;)

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one. Not only am I NOT in the mood from breastfeeding & crazy hormones but it's so uncomfortable I'd rather watch tv!

  • Use tons of lube.  It gets better with practice.
  • I could have written this myself

I'm the same way, it was so uncomfortable I'd rather just not do it! But it is true the more you "practice" the easier it gets.  It is getting better but it might be TMI but use lots of lube, really helped out a LOT.

  • I am totally in the same boat! I dont breastfeed, but I just am not in the mood! We had sexy time the other night for the first time since DD was born (yes, 6 months ago) and it was okay.  Definitely like you said.. it was like the first time.  But it was good, hopefully the next time is better, and not 6 months from now! haha
  • I agree--lots of lube and keep trying, it will get better! Also, try different positions, I've found that all of my old favorite positions hurt now but as soon as we tried something different it was much better (and the positions I like now are ones that used to hurt before I was pregnant--so weird!)
