I am finally going to start going back to my workout classes this week and had a thought. Is it safe to do situps and ab work? I've looked on yahoo but am reading conflicting things. Do any of you ladies know? TIA!
hehe I dunno, don't do situps! Have you tried looking on the fit pregnancy site? Also... wanna be my labor buddy? I went to high risk and apparently I don't have to be induced after all??? They said the half-life on the heparin is like 6 hours long and so it is likely out of your system by the time you need to push or whatever. And good morning!!!
Thanks I'll try fitpreg, not sure that's one of the sites I clicked on. JK - yeah let's be labor buddies! So you're gonna be a January mama afterall!!! Well I guess there's still a chance of early labor but who knows!
Oh and the news about no workouts on your back - that works for me, get's me out of a lot! Haha.

I hope not! It sounds terrible but DH has to use vacation days before FMLA will kick in. So... we really want the baby to come a little early! Also, it is a big deal b/c our insurance deductible changes from 90% coverage to 80% in the new year. So... I will probably be chugging castor oil and running pregnant laps around the subdivision after like 37-38 weeks!
No I totally agree with you. For insurance purposes, and tax breaks, all that stuff it would be nice to have the baby at the end of December. I shouldn't hope for an early baby but it's hard not to when a lot of money is involved. Lol. Oh and your lil pnut looks so cute!
The big thing is to check the spacing of your abs so see if they are seperating....if they are they say no to any situp or crunch. To check lay down and do a half crunch...put your fingers under your belly button or a little below and press down, if you can feel the seperation and fit two fingers in b/w then it's not good to do any of them.
Sit-ups are said to be a big no but you can do planks and other core excersises
Today in my prenatal class we did mild "core" work, but my instructor warned about doing abs work because you risk abdominal separation...looked it up, and does not sound pleasant!
I might be late chiming in here and didnt read through every post but I think doing ab work on a ball is okay but you definitely want to double check with your dr.
Re: Situps?
You aren't supposed to do any exercises on your back after 13 weeks. I think that's the cutoff, but you can double check online.
My DR suggested a reverse crunch.
