feeding amts?

We're wondering if we're feeding our twins too much.  They're only a month old and one is spitting up quite a bit.  They are being bottle fed breastmilk and formula. How many ounces do you give your little one and how much does he weigh and how old are they?

Re: feeding amts?

  • My 4 week old is eating 3 ounces every 3-4 hours.  Except in the evening when she eats every 2 hours, and will occasionally take 4 ounces during her night feedings.  She was 6lbs 7oz at her 2 week appointment.  I'm not sure what she is now, but she seems significantly larger to me!

  • I was wondering this same thing for my LO, but he isn't spitting up.

He was 8 lbs 10 oz when born, 9 lbs 4 oz at his two week appointment. He is eating 2.5-4 oz every 1.5-3 hours (I think he is getting ready for his 3 week growth spurt though. He normally eats 2-3 every 2-3 hours.) He is eating breast milk only right now. He does not spit up, but that seems like a lot of food for a kiddo.

  • I wish there was some sort of graph or info for this ... I think we're over feeding ours.  Nurses at hospital said to give them as much as they will take...and that they won't over eat.
