Did anyone else not want/have a shower?

I am so picky when it comes to everything, I would rather just do it all myself (as far as buying for baby..) I know this sounds weird, but most of the times when I get gifts for baby, it's not my taste anyway, since most people get creative and buy outside the registry.  With this in mind, I would rather just not have a shower lol.  I feel bad about people wasting their time and money.  *I sound like a total type-A right now* lol Also I am not one to be the center of attention.

    i did not want one.  I also don't like attention - especially opening gifts.  But, it would hurt my sisters feelings if I didn't.  So, I'm going to let them do it.  I'm sure they'll make it fun.  I did tell them no games and were not measuring my belly.  :o)  Most people will give you a gift receipt so if you don't like something you can return it.

    Any type of shower is way too AW for me. NMS. I very politely decline offers from friends and family.

    According to the Bump glossary (on the LEFT side of the page) it means Attention Wanted though some bumpies refer to it as Attention Wh0re. 

     

    Edited bc I said right instead of left originally.

    I don't really want one but have somehow been offered 3.  We're fortunate to be able to purchase the things we need for our baby so my issue isn't that I care what people buy me, it's more that I don't want them spending their money on us.  I guess I feel guilty accepting things from people.  I have to remind myself that I love buying gifts for people and I'm sure others feel just as good about it so I need to not feel so guilty.  

    In your case I would just remind you that people are going to buy you things whether you have a shower or not so......

    I have not had anyone offer to throw me a shower so I don't think I'll be getting one. I'm kind of bummed about it - not because of the gifts but just that it makes me feel like no one really cares about this baby coming. Oh well, it will be special to my DH and I and that's all that really matters in the end.

    I am having three and can't wait. We could use the help and appreciate that we have family and friends who want to do something special for us. So when the offers were made I graciously accepted.
