AW - FI is finally DH!

Well, we finally tied to knot this past Sunday, June 27th. I'll definitely have pictures soon, but we just got back from the lake yesterday morning. It all turned out much better than I thought it would.

My mother actually went the extra mile to make herself pleasant. She even called DS her "grandbaby" for the first time, and she wanted to hold him a lot! She told SD how beautiful she looked and how sweet she was up there with us during the ceremony, and she even gave DH a hug and a kiss on the cheek and told him she loved all of us before she left. That was definitely unexpected. I kept waiting for the snobby monster within to burst out of her. I just hope it was real, and she actually is going to accept my family now.

MIL and GMIL gave me the most gorgeous ring while they were helping me get ready. It was one that GMIL's late husband gave her right before he died of cancer. It meant a lot to me, but I think it meant even more to DH when he noticed it during the ceremony and realized what it was.

And the dreaded week away from the kids was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. We enjoyed ourselves a lot. If we could take our bed with us next time, I think we might be able to stay longer. lol! But it feels good to be back in the middle of loud squeals and lots of kiddy questions.

Oh, and having to explain to SD that our honeymoon was not on the moon was actually pretty funny.
