January 2011 Moms

Do you ever stop and think...

Sometimes I will be looking at the calendar or something and realize holy sh*t! In like late 5-6 months there could be a baby here. That's like half a year. My due date is actually 6 months from today. Holy crap! Sounds like a long time but on the other hand... Surprise Kind of crazy!

Re: Do you ever stop and think...

  • YES!  I said that to DH a couple days ago that we'd have a baby in about six months- it makes it feel so much sooner!  haha!  =D

  • I was thinking about it on a few different levels yesterday. We have some major purchases we want to make for our house...not just nursery furniture but also new couches, coffee table. end table and area rug. Also we had some flooding in our basement and need to do some landscaping so it doesn't happen again. So mostly it was about money and paying for these things before the baby comes and we have the added expenses.

Then I was thinking about the nursery and registering. When I think of January it seems so far away. But when I think in months it seems so short!

Also this weekend we went out of town and were wondering if next year we would do the same thing with a six month old...it's so crazy to think about! I'm almost not able to even imagine it!

  • Yes! Then I start to panic, lol. I'm panicking more now than I was with dd. For some reason I'm having a really hard time imagining going from 1 kid to 2. Eek!
  • Nope.  If I do, I will freak out and run away. Stick out tongue
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

Yes! We are paying off the Camry this month, DH wants a new truck (thinks he can't turn the air bag off in his work truck for back-facing???), I want new queen mattress with new bed and his and her dressers, plus maybe some more living room seating??? OMG!

  • I totally just had a moment like this yesterday, my due date is 6 months from yesterday. So weird.

We're in a similar boat, we need to buy a car, screen in our porch, put in more insulation and re-tile the baby's bathroom.  All this plus the nursery and everything else baby related.  Indifferent  It's a little overwhelming at times.

OMG no kidding!!!  We still need to buy a woodstove and move our downstairs bathroom....MOVE it.  LOL  Our house is over 150 years old and it is quirky as hell and outdated.  We're just hoping to have our upstairs finished by the end of the year...*sigh*

  • Oh yes I have these moments.  Yesterday I was freaking out about the baby sleeping in my office at work and how I'll be able to manage work with an infant.  I think DH got pretty irritated LOL.  Maybe I should say it to him that way "In less than 7 months..."
  • Tell me about it. We're in the middle of major construction here - tearing down walls and kitchen reno and the like - and feeling the pinch on time.
  • I was just thinking yesterday about how these past 3 months have just flown by. I mean, it feels like just yesterday we found out! And soon enough a baby will be here! Which is odd because I can't picture myself with a baby. I mean, I'm SO excited but I can't picture myself pushing a stroller with a diaper bag, lol. Its going to be so surreal!
