Birthday party question

We are thinking of having the baby's 1 year party and DD's 4 year party (same day, they were born 2 days apart) at a friends private beach.

Would you have some sort of entertainment as well (not sure what yet) or would you feel that that the beach playing/swimming would be enough? (I'm leaning towards the former, so suggestions please!)

Re: Birthday party question

  • I would do one or two organized games for the 4 year olds - like a scavenger hunt or some other fun game.  I am not big into formal 'entertainment' for young kids' birthday parties.
promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am

  • I think if you just have some beach/sand/water type toys for the kids, that is perfect.  You'll have food, then cake, then a little play time, gifts, and then wrap up the party.

    This would be fine.

  • I think playing at the beach should be enough

    This.
  • I think having a huge beach is entertainment enough.  Have lots of sand pails and other beach toys and you are all set.
