Would a day at the beach mess up your BBT?

I got all excited b/c my temperature was 98.1 in the a.m. (it's never that high...usually it's about 97.0) but I had spent the entire day before on the beach, laying in the blazing sun. 

Would that give me the artificial spike?  Or did I actually ovulate like a normal human being??

    Ive never had my daily activies affect my temps, so maybe! =)

    was there alcohol involved? that will cause a spike.

    Did you get a bad burn? The stress of that on your body, could also cause a spike (less likely, though).

    Really, the only way to tell is to wait the three days and see if it remains elevated.

    No alcohol, and I didn't get burned.  Maybe a little bit pink.  My temp the following day was 97.5, down from the 98.1.  But I spent just as much time in the sun prior as I did the first time.  

    We'll see!
