3rd Trimester

I had my boys- 36 weeks and 5 days!

Ezra Alan Ivey 5.8 lbs and 18 1/2 in and Judah Quinn Ivey 6.1 and 20 in. They both have huge hands and feet!!!  I'll post a pic soon.

So, I haven't had much time to write at all, but my boys came on June 27th at 8:17 and 8:19 in the morning.  My water broke at 4:50 am and we rushed in.  I was having contractions and they checked their positions.  Twin A was transverse and Twin B was breech.  They prepped me for a C-section and everything went pretty well.  They had a  bit of a time getting the epidural in place and I started to get nervous that they were going to paralyze me.  I'm still pretty sore.  My feet have been crazy swollen (even more so than during pregnancy)

Ezra Alan came first.  He got a 9 on is Agpar (spelling?) but was rushed off quickly because he has a heart condition (hypo-plastic left heart syndrome) which we knew about before birth.  Judah Quinn was taken out second and him and Daddy sat by me while they finished up.  As soon as the two of them went away, my head started pounding and I started to feel sick.

Tomorrow we have surgery for Ezra and I've been a bit stressed.  I'm just trying to stay positive and keep my mild supply up.  I should be in bed right now, but I have so much to prepare to stay in the hospital tomorrow.  We have to be there to see him before they take him in to prep him at 8.  I'm also supposed to have Judah's first pediatric appointment at 11 am.  It's been a long pregnancy, but it's going to be an even longer 3 months until he can come home.  I can't wait to have my whole family under one roof.  This has definitely been the hardest thing I've even been through.

  • I've been wondering about you since you got the diagnosis a while back! Is he having the Norwood or "Hybrid" Norwood? Thoughts and Prayers are with you - I know what you're going thru - it's really tough, but these heart babies are strong kiddos! Best of luck with surgery, I hope everything goes great! Keep your head up
