feeling movement at 11 weeks???

I was pretty sure you couldn't feel LO moving around at only 11 weeks. I mean s/he is only 1.5inches long, and your uterus is the size of a grapefruit, and still within your pelvis. Or does this all go out the window with kid #2?

a "friend" on FB posted as her status that she could feel her little one moving around, and she is 11 weeks pregnant, and claims her doctor said that it is possible to feel movement/flutters this early because its not her first....

am i justified in calling her out?

  • Everything is different with your second.

If you call her out she'll use the "my doctor said" thing anyway.

  • I have a few people who swear they felt it that early. I say take some tums
  • I would ask her if she's sure it's not gas? I'm no Dr, but I think 11 weeks is pretty early...
  • I would tend to believe it was gas.  But, if she wants to believe it is the baby, why not just go along with it.

  • My OB said its not likely to feel the baby move before 15 weeks with the first but with the second+ you could very well feel little flutters here and there every so often starting at about 11-13 weeks.
  • I've never felt any of my kids before 15-16 weeks.

  • I had a girl I used to work with say on her 3rd baby that at 13 weeks her husband felt the baby kick! That got the huge side eye! lol

  • She's probably imagining things, but why call her out.  Just let her have her fun.
  • I think it's just phantom... probably gas.

I could have SWORN that I've already felt the baby.  Now, how freaking ridiculous is that?  It's gas, she just thinks it's the baby.

  • I felt the baby VERY early with my 2nd,  I don't remember how many weeks, maybe 12???  I kept chalking it up to gas, but after a few days, I knew it was definitely baby.

  • I know at my 12 week ultrasound, the baby was wiggling like crazy, but I could not feel her yet. By my 18 week ultrasound, I could feel her moving non stop. Im not sure when I started exactly though. Im sure I have it written down somewhere. Maybe 15 or 16 weeks.

  • Eh, I've only had one and I know I felt my little wiggle worm at just under 13 weeks. I am very in tune with my body and it felt like little tickles (like a hair on my arm). As the feelings got stronger I became 100% sure that it was in fact him. DH felt him moving at 20 weeks exactly.
  • I felt both of mine by 11 weeks.

Super super subtle, and only when I laid perfectly still, barely breathing -- but yes, I felt them. I would poke at my uterus and get teeny little movements in response. Not gas, not even enough motion to be called flutters. It felt like there was a tiny cluster of bees inside me with their wings vibrating.

    Yup, totally possible.

  • I felt my first at 12.5 weeks (during my NT u/s I asked the doc if the baby was moving right then and he said yes) and DD at about 11 weeks. So yes, it is definitely possible.

Really? Thats incredible. My uterus wasn't above my pelvic bone yet and midwives couldn't even get her heartbeat yet. I knew she was a girl already though. I guess everyone is in tune differently.
