We have been reading the "There Was An Old Lady..." series a lot recently. They're great for sequencing, etc. but I am hiding them tonight when DD is asleep. WHY?
Because today DD has been referring to me as "Old Lady."
I got a book at the library that I think Cole would like: Alphaboat
It would be great for families with a toddler and a school aged child because many of the jokes/puns went right over DD's head.
We went to the library yesterday afternoon, so we have only been able to read three of them so far. All were hits though.
Chicka Chicka 1,2,3 - I have to admit, it's not as good as the ABC one, but DS still seems to like it.
Bread and Jam for Frances - (brightning rec'd) This is the one we haven't read together yet.
As we were going to checkout at the library, DS said, "Wait! What about an elephant and piggie book?!" Seems as though we've checked one out every single library visit, and I guess he noticed. So we got the only two left on the shelf that we haven't read yet:
Are You Ready to Play Outisde? and I Love My New Toy! - Cole really, really loves these elephant and piggie books, so I am glad there are so many of them!
I also reserved L-M-N-O Peas that was rec'd by Read2Me last week. It was checked out already, and hopefully will be back for me to pick up by the time we turn in these other books.
i never open this thread because all Olivia will read are Dora books. we go to the library and bring home 10 books - 5 Dora, 5 other things that she picks out.
She rarely reads the non-Dora books. I'm getting a little sick of the Mpa, Backpack and Swiper.
Some Aesop's Fables picture book that I pulled out from my old box of teaching stuff... seriously, she's carrying is around w/ her everywhere and has it in bed w/ her right now!
Llama, Llama, Red Pajama
A Potty for Me - Karen Katz
CP 3/07 BFP 5/07 - Kylie born 2/08. BPF 2/09 - Alexandra born 10/09. TTC since 8/13 - diagnosed difficulty conceiving due to LP defect. Took vitamin B and Vitex Berry to help lengthen. BFP 2/14 - Missed M/C found at 8.5 weeks. D&C at 9w2d. Partial Molar Pregnancy. BFP 11/14
DD1 dug out Sandra Boynton's "What's Wrong, Little Pookie?" this week. Only now when we read it, I read the mama's part and she says the responses of the little pig/pookie in a tiny, high-pitched voice. Just like the one I would use when I read it aloud to her.
"A house for hermit crab" by Eric Carle - We've had this for a while but DD has definitely rediscovered it and fallen in love all over again. Great if your DC likes sea animals.
I also got a pack of Curious George books from Costco a few weeks ago and DD likes those, especially "Curious George feeds the animals." To be honest, I'm not really a fan, but the books aren't for me, now are they?

Eva is loving Ooh La La Polka-Dot Boots by Ellen Olsen-Brown. It's a cute book.
We've also read I Can Help by David Hyde Costello dozens of times this week. It's a really simple story with great illustrations and Eva adores it and is so curious about what the animals are doing to help each other.
We just got the books from his summer reading list
chicka chicka boom boom, if you take a mouse to school, baby duck goes to school, the kissing hands, caps for sale, & a few that I cannot remember.
