What potty chair/seat do you have?

I'm thinking since he just went on the regular toilet that I'll just get him one of the seats that sit on top of it and maybe a little step stool.  A potty chair that I would have to clean out really makes me want to gag.

What do you have?  Does it work well for you?

Re: What potty chair/seat do you have?

  • Baby Bjorn.  The bigger one with the removable center.
  • Loading the player...
  • we're not potty training yet- but plan to get one thet folds up for travel - a freind has it and LOVES it b/c her kids can go anywhere... into a thorw away baggie (or the grass if just pee).

i do plan to get a regular one for the house- esp since our one and only bathroom is upstairs!

  • We just use a potty ring because, like you, I think I'd barf if I had to clean out a chair. DS loves it, and he loves the step stool we got with it. We have one with Sesame Street on it (sorry, I forget the brand). Look for one with a really raised front because otherwise he'll just pee all over the floor. We had one from Step 1, and it sucked. This one is OK, but most of it ends on the floor anyway.

  • baby bjorn and he likes it alot
  • We have 3, one for each bathroom.  My favorite is her Elmo seat that sits right on the toilet because there is no cleaning of one and she goes to the bathroom into the toilet.  She picked it out and goes in it regularly.
  • We have both.  I actually prefer the Bjorn because it is much easier to detect if he actually went... sometimes it is only a trickle and I want to make sure he gets the praise.  It really hasn't been a problem to clean.  When he goes more regularly, we will phase out the stand alone potty.  He seems equally comfortable using the little potty and his seat on the regular potty.

  • I have the one that sits on the toilet - I clean enough commodes at work as a nurse, I'm not doing it at home.  DS isn't actually doing anything on the potty yet, he's not even 2, but he keeps saying he wants to poop on the potty ("pahee") and the last two days he's been saying it, sitting, doing nothing and then pooping about 20 minutes later, so I think he's starting to understand the feeling.  We're not pushing him at all becuase he's so young, but hey, if he wants to do it, then woohoo!
