when is chocolate ok? or is it now?

just trying to think of the flavor for his smash cake.  :-)

Re: when is chocolate ok? or is it now?

  • I'm making B's cupcakes chocolate. I know wholesomebabyfood has it listed as 1 year (if ever) but I suspect that's as much because it's not particularly healthy, not because it's an allergen risk or anything.

So, for a birthday cake, it should be fine. All things in moderation. :)

  • Went DD#1 was in the hospital at 10.5 months, the doctor suggest mixing her medicine with chocolate syrup & put it in a bottle to her to take it.  Like pp said, I don't think its an allergy thing, in moderation I feel its okay.
  • Chocolate isn't recommended until 1 year because it contains a stimulant, I believe. It's similar to caffeine and is also the reason chocolate is dangerous to dogs.

You're probably fine giving it in his. cake if you haven't already noticed sensitivity. We'll be waiting longer, because Zack is incredibly sensitive to it - even the trace amounts he gets through breastmilk.
